Hi Guys, anyone done any research on the best place to get whitewalls? They seem to be a bit hard to track down. Looking for front and rear. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Rusty

There is also a white wall paint you can buy and paint your own. Try Simon he should be able to get you some.

True to that Moe,look at Steve,s and Angel,s. Must however say that it does depend on how good you prep the tyre before hand and maybe a coat later on . Must admit i have had no experience in this department only from the literature from which i have read. ""eg;Start By removing complete wheel from bike, I used a fender stand to support the wheel, next tape up the rim REAL good so you don't damage the chrome. I used laquer thinner to clean the side walls before I got started. I did this before I started grinding and after scuffing tire. You want to make sure you get all armoral off. Has to be silicone free or paint won't stick. I used 3m green masking tape. Next, you have to scuff the sidewalls pretty good to get the paint to stick. I used a angled die grinder (air powered) with a 2" roloc maroon scotchbrite pad attached to it. Very carefully went around the side wall and ground off all the lettering and surface area to be painted. This tool is pretty aggressive when it comes to taking off material. Just go slow. Next pull off masking tape and RE-TAPE the rim, then tape up the outer edge were you want your paint edge to stop. I took mine right to the outer edge of the tire. Then used plastic, to cover the spokes and hub. then paper to cover tire tread area. Next comes the fun part! This paint is really thick. almost like latex paint ( i think it is, because it washes off your hands with water) I used a small bush to get around the rim edge and a 2"long roller (this was included with the paint) to paint the rest of the tire. 1st coat let dry 4 hours both sides, then 2nd coat both sides let dry 4 hours, Came back the next day (dryed for 16 hours) and very slowly peeled tape off. The 3m tape is pretty strong tape so when you pull it off don't worry about it tearing, just keep starting edge at right angle to paint edge to get a crisp paint edge. It will help if you use a razor blade or xacto knife to cut around the rim edge and clean up were the paint bled thru tape edge. Sorry if the paint comes up with the tape you didn't prep the the tire surface good enough. The tricky part was mounting tire back on the bike without scuffing the paint, its pretty tough stuff but doesn't like sharp metal edges. 2 ways to do this,1- take the fender off or 2- tape off the fender mounting bolts, I used #2 method. To lazy to take the fender off Just go slow and eazy. The instructions say to let the paint cure 4 more days before you start using them, its a good idea to follow the instructions. I couldn't wait that long and needed to use the bike 2 days into the cure process and now have very small Hairline cracks in the paint. You have to be up real close to see them but OH-well shit happens. Overall very pleased with the outcome, white wall tires for $30 can't beat that. "
For mine i would take time doing that or go the way the boys do in the good old USA. From there forum ,90% seem to go with these. Dunlop WWW D404 140/80-17 on the front. K555 170/80-15 on the rear.
A bloke on the coast qouted me about 230 for the metzler but they dont have a matching set i think . They are pricey. Bit hard to go past me Dunny,s that have now done over 20,000 on the front. back had done 13,500 when a screw stuffed things up. Good luck Rusty. Cheers Ray

Thanks for that Ray,guess who's bike isn't going to be whitewalled any time soon!but saved me a lot of grief.Might be interested if it made the bike faster, but need a different rev limiter for that. If I was a "polishing person"(like a certain ex marine)then i would pay for the proprietary ones
