Well I finally got off my padded bit and went to get someone to do something about the pretty number plate frame that I bought months ago. It didn't fit straight over the plate which I knew it wouldn't so I went to get someone to see if they could make it a touch bigger so you could see my actual number plate.
When I got to the mates place we looked at it for a while in the baking sun then worked out that you can actually see everything you need to see without actually hacking bits off the frame or trying to add bits in. Awsome all we had to do was drill some extra holes in the plate to fix the frame, and that was done in minutes but ...
While he was mucking round with the number plate he had to kinda loosen the bracket that I'd put on to relocate my indicators. Now when I did that, because of the little bit of tilt on the number plate bracket which follows the line of my guard, the blinkers ended up being tilted upwards slightly. I didn't mind that they are still very visible...
I check my blinkers along with all the other bits before we go off on a ride and I sorta thought that my blinkers didn't look terrible bright the last couple of times .. I wasn't exactly sure though and they are still very visible ....
With that in mind when my mate said 'ooh where'd all the water come from?' a little alarm went off. Hmmm rusty water coming out of my blinker ... eek give it a bit of a shake and rusty water pouring out of both blinkers.... ooo that doesn't look good. We opened it up and had a look (removing the rubber seal when we took it apart, I wonder what that bit of rubber is actually doing, it's not sealing anything) this is what we found ...
The bulb was actually rusted in there, now I dont have a blinker at all, nope not very visible anymore ...
I'm hoping I can at least put a new bulb in until I can get new blinker, I've wanted them for a while anyway.
On the bright side .. the new number plate frame looks awsome
