We are very fortunate at SRA to have some experienced, talented and supportive members who are sincere in their desire to improve and expand Shadow Riders Australia.
This month we have created and are filling postions that will underpin our efforts to provide a more active and rewarding membership for everyone belonging to our group.
The following is a list of our administrative staff (to date) and the roles that they hold within SRA. Positions will be offered for re-nomination at the end of Ferbruary each year. Please keep in mind that these positions are held by volunteers who donate their time and energy freely and (like all members) deserve no less than to be treated with respect.
Over the weeks and months ahead you will become more familiar with our staff and the roles they hold but for now please read below a brief summary of each.
President - Russ (Rusty) Strobel Located in Victoria Founder of SRA in 2009. Oversees SRA operations. Initiates programs and activities. Maintains SRA website. Designs and sells SRA merchandise. Maintains a master list of all members and authorises memberships.
Vice President - Steve Coe Located in Queensland One of our first members and our Qld State Co-ordinator Provides a first point of contact and will act on behalf of the President during any absence. Provides advise and support to other staff members with projects and initiatives where needed.
National Road Captain - Arnold (Scrap) Schraven Located in Western Australia Scrap came to SRA during the first few months of our existence and has a wealth of riding and administrative experience. Scrap will assist in the establishment of a Safe Riding and Road Etiquette policy for SRA members in conjunction with other SRA staff. Resource venues and routes for major group rides. Support and advise State Co-ordinators on matters relating to SRA policy. Encourage broader eastern and western group rides and assist State Co-ordinators in their planning.
Communications Officer - Shane (kinghavoc) Williams Located in Victoria Shane has all the talent and ability to bring together our members through the establishment of a monthly newsletter. Shane will be the point of contact for members and State Co-ordinators for items of interest. State updates and announcements along with items of interest will go into our monthly email newletter drafted by Shane and sent to all members directly.
Secretary General - TBA
Victorian State Co-ordinator - Berhard (Lone Wolf) Laauwen Bernhard comes into the role of Victorian State Co-ordinator with enthusiasm and organisational skills. The role of State Co-ordinator oversees and encourages activities and new membership for all State members, maintains a State members register and provides regular updates for the SRA Newsletter. State Co-ordinators ensure SRA policies are adhered to during rides and events, are active in sourcing member discounts with retail or commercial organisations within each State and works with National Road Captain to organise major group meets.
Western Australia State Co-ordinator - Jayne (Angel) Rae Jayne has been an active and popular State Co-ordinator for WA for some time now. Angel has been holding regular rides in the west and represents our group as ambassador in events like the toy run.
Queensland State Co-ordinator - Steve Coe Steve has been a great supporter of SRA from the outset. Steve now takes on the dual role of State-Cordinator and SRA Vice President.
Congrats and best wishes to you all in the new (and old) executive roles! I have every confidence in this leadership group! ;D
