Hi Shadow Riders, I have a 2009 VT 750 C2; spoked wheels, tubed tyres. Shaft Drive. Thinking about what to do if I am riding and get a puncture either with the group or on my own. Thinking about Emergency Tyre Repair product to carry eg Slime, Weld etc. Any recommendations? Appreciate any advice. Cheers Greyshadow

I've heard that the foam/slime in a can doesn't work for tubed tyres. Spoked wheels are also a problem (usually with tubed tyres) have too many places for the air to leak out (& also the foam/slime)

What about a RAC membership? Good question though as I've often thought about this myself.
So Spinal, does your post mean that you've had a nail go into your tyre while the slime was in there?

moe drove the whole way from QLD with tyres filled with slime, doesnt affect the handling, Some say it ruins the tyres but if it has a hole in what does it matter. Who cares about the poor b**tard who has to fix it ??

I'm still using the tubes that were in my tyres in Qld,just fitted a new tyre and using the same tube, as it passed my check,so it's been in for 47,000kms,but do what you feel comfortable with.
( It's called "the green stuff" )

One can is enough - just make sure you get the wheel rotating as soon as spossible after you've put it in. Only ever used tit to repair a puncture though I do know someone who put it in to prevent them. Can kept in my saddle bags all the time
