My beloved Betty had a little surgery yesterday, of the performance kind. Thanks to the wonderful people at Sixty Degrees Motorcycles....who really went out if their way to get the bits and get it done before I moved to Mildura. Brand spanking new V&H Cruzers along with a K&N air filter...I was going to get a new ECU also, but didn't arrive in time from the supplier. Turned out she didn't need a dynotune either, so they saved me from any unnecessary spending. She now purrs like a big fat beast (the audio on the video doesn't do her justice), and the difference in performance is much better for a 400...she runs a smidgeon rich, but that's how I like her. Haven't tested out the fuel economy yet, but since I have a 600km ride coming up, I reckon I'll have a good idea by the end of it. Video here: youtu.be/22IhYEkARxQIf you're in Melbourne, particularly on the Eastern side, I very very highly recommend them: www.sixtydegrees.com.au/default.asp?DeptID=1They also do a number of really cheap but highest of quality courses, including Roadcraft, Rider First Aid, and Motorcycle maintenance. Speak to Kat or Luke and say Zorb sent you their way! Attachments:

Oh that sounds awsome I used to like that the 400 is quiet ... might change my mind, I had a pushbike rider veer out towards the center line on a country road while I was passing him today, he had moved over for cray tho. If my baby sounded like Betty I'm sure he woulda known I was there Well done Zorb!!

Nice
I've just purchased a 2010 VT400 and after watching your video (on YouTube). After watching your vid on YouTube, I called Sixty Degrees, spoke to Kat and I'll order the V7H pipes for my VT400 later this month/early July.
Kat mentioned I should go with the K&H air filter and 2X new O2 sensors? From the sounds of what you got this is all I'll need to worry about as well.... I'm not in a hurry to ride fast as i just want to cruise but with a little better exhaust note that stock.
Lastly, I'm on LAM's L's licence (Hence, the VT400) so I'll check if the "modifications" of pipes stuffs up my LAMs

You'll do very well with Sixty Degrees as customer service/satisfaction is their nymber one priority, and the result you're looking for is the same result I got! Very comfortable ride, and my gorgeous Betty now sounds like she's got good grunt...she even set off a a colleagues car-alarm yesterday when I rode a little close in the carpark...that was very satisfying Tell Kat I'm sending huge hugs her way, and I miss them all heaps...you just can't get that level of service here in Mildura! PS: Ask them about their Maintenance and Roadcraft courses too when you see them. I've done both, and cannot recommend them highly enough!

Hey Wolfishgrin Ive been trying to source new pipes and a k&n filter with no luck. I have even emailed Vance and Hines directly to get a part number for a cruzer or shortshot pipes and they couldn't even tell me which part number I need. I also call 60 degrees and they couldn't even help me. They told me here was nothing for the bike. I don't remember who I spoke too but it was a bloke. Are you able to assist me with the part numbers for the cruzer and k&n filter, so that I could just go to any shop and order it? Also with your cruzer, did it have the o2 sensors port already there or did 60 degrees have to modify your pipes? Any help would be appreciated as I love the sound of Betty and would like Ida to pur the same. Thanking you in advance

Thanking you in advance Sorry mate, I wish I knew what the part numbers were, but the lovely Kat at Sixty Degrees did all the ordering for me, and Chris did all the work installing them...I am sooo very far from being mechanically minded that I left all of it to them to do for me. I'm afraid I wouldn't have a clue what the part numbers were... What I can tell you is that my 2010 VT400 body is the same as the 2009 VT750 Aero (or later). So when Kat was doing the ordering, she was looking for Aero compatible models. Hope that helps some! I think they did have to change the O2 sensors, but the ports were already there and they didn't modify the pipes...I think.

Went straight on ,no probs. So having said that the Cruzers aren,t a worry to order. I sent an email straight to V&H and they said with orders now the 02 sensor ports are included provided they are asked for . What some do is either get ports put on or you can by the 02 sensor eliminators which wires the 2 together and tells the computer all is well. Hope this is of some benifit. Hey Wolfie you haven,t got your bill around for the job they did, with a bit f luck the numbers of the pipes should be on that. Wish i had the spare $$$ to get some but i just got my OEM ones cut out and they make a nice sound and still look origanal. Each to his own mate. Thats what it is all about ,good luck Cheers Ray

Hey Rayd
Thank you, appreciate the help. I've called around a few places now and getting quotes. So will be popping in to a few of them to check out the workshops and attitude/customer service of the places. I was very keen on getting the shortshots but now I'll most likely go for the cruzers as I won't have to put the o2 eliminators on and have the engine light on all the time because it would annoy the heck outta me seeing that ligh on all the time.
So once again thank you for your help. I will now be blinging up Ida. First the grill and horn cover and who knows where ill stop haha
