Hi guys and gals,
I'm a new VT400 owner and first time cruiser rider. Was riding sports bikes ages ago but have just recently got my licence again.
Was justing wondering if there is any rides soon as I'm keen to get on the open road and let the wind smack me in the face.
Also, would like to hear from anyone who has a 400 and where they sourced their exhaust system and air filter from. I've been asking around shops and most of them are not very helpful on where I can get them from as they don't stock or even know which product to order for me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome my friend. A 400 what a great choice. We have quite a few here on the forum so just hang on and i,m sure they will see your post. Need to talk to MRC here in QLD or Annastasia in NSW or Silversurfer in VIC. They have mucked around a bit with things on theirs . One thing of note; The 400 parts are 99% interchangeable with the 750,s so you shouldn,t have a problem there. The Vance &Hines Cruzer pipes are a favorite on most of the bikes but MRC has had his bored out professionally the same as i did to my 750 to keep it looking original. Totally your choice mate. K&N filters are the go to replace the stock ones and get a bit more air in there. Desnorkeling the air intake is something many do to get more air again. Only thing you have to watch is that you dont over do it and throw the mixtures out . Then you get into the nitty gritty of buying hyperchargers and power commandos to balance it all out and having to get it dyno tuned . Better off waiting till you go a bigger bike sometimes. Happy riding. Oh yeah we need pic mate ;D Just have to have a look at that wonderfull machine. I,m sure Johnboy your NSW ride co-ord will get onto you. Cheers Ray .Trish Gympie Qld

Thanks Rayd
Have read alot of your threads and your helpfulness is awesome. So if I order parts for a 750 aero I should be right? I figured that I'm gonna have the bike for at least 15mths, so I might as well enjoy my ride and get the most out of it.
I got an 09 model with 530kms on it, so it was a bargain. I'm not to sure on how to upload a pic.

Welcome Mrsumo,
I'd love to answer your questions but unfortuanately I"m not sure enough. I have bought things for my bike (2011 VT400) on the basis that the VT750 Aero is the same, but I havent done anything with the exhust so I'm not sure enough about it. I think the year models are from '09 onwards so you should be right.
I have to say I've gotten much the same reaction from shops that you did, most of the information I have found has been here on this forum, so my best advice would be to check out some of the older posts.
As far as rides go look out for johnboy posting something, he's been wanting to plan something for a while now.

Yeah it was a lovely day for a ride yesterday, glad you had a good time. It was actually something above zero here but still too cold for a decent ride without gloves, so I took the car and went glove shopping yesterday, I even ordered some that should fit .. yay ride coming up for me!! I'm surprised your mini me will get on the bike since your disc lock/alarm has been scaring him silly
