I was all keen this morning when my new luggage rack from kakahealthcare arrived at the door. I quickly opened it & raced out to the garage to fit it to the bike, only to discover it's too wide. I had measured the holes previously & found they matched with the racks dimensions, but I stupidly didn't think to measure the width of the rack. It's about 20mm wider than my backrest. My rest looks exactly like the one in the ebay photo but it seems they don't match. I could bulk it out with bushes but that would look a bit ugly I think. So it's up for sale. It cost me $65 delivered but I'm happy to let it go for $50 inclusive of postage. If no one here wants it I guess I'll list it on ebay myself. Here's the link so you can see it & its dimensions. Pay closer attention to them than I did. www.ebay.com.au/itm/360246804417?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648#ht_5686wt_1159

Hey Clarry, Just drop in some spacers to soak up the extra width.

Clarry, Scraps got the right idea, just get some spacers made up out of Aluminum, or 304SS, if you want to try it out on the cheep, just put some washers in there to space it out, that way you can get the right thickness and show the guy what size spacers you need. cheers simmo

If you make up an alloy block the same shape as the end bit with the holes in i dont think it will look fugly at all .Shape it to the same as the rack . Thats only a 10mm block each side the way your talking. Either that or a bit of stainless bar shaped and polished would look smicko mate Cheers Ray

Hmmm, I'll look into it guys. I'm struggling to understand what backrest it's meant to fit. From the photo on the web site, it's only as wide as the rear guard of the Shadow, and so is my current backrest. Here's my backrest and here's the stock photo of the rack I bought on what appears to be the same backrest

Mmmmmm ,can see your point Clarry . What iff time.what if you undone your backrest and spread out the bars to the outside of the support brackets .Would this then make the other one the right size. Effectively making a spacer . Just a what if ,maybe thingy Cheers Ray
