I am from India but living in Canberra and have a vt400. I would like to change the exhaust on it and make it loud, just wanted to know what bare the best options to it.

Fair enough ..The ace and Hinz cruzers to most are the best . However Cobra do a great pipe as wel . Go on their websites and check it . Though for about 250 bucks one can get the otiginals done properly . i did and love the sound . Keeps the look original . Ca also buy slip ons. Replace the rear end pipe .

One of my friends told me to just take the gaffe,s out would that be a good idea, I have attached the link would that do any harm to the bike? youtu.be/hEP7jnV0opMMost after market sometimes are straight through pipes .Quite a few do that maethod but i call it the butcher method. Lol.I believe a bit of back pressure is needed. Okay if yours is 09 model or onwards a cheap way to do it is get a set of 750.pipes second hand but in good nick. The barrel in the 750 baffles are a lot bigger there fore letting out some gases quicker which will give you more torque and a louder noise. A member here did it . The 750 pipes fit straight on as most parts are interchangable between the two. 2009 onwards as i stayed though. Can usually get a set for 100 bucks on ebay. However the holesaw is cheaper. But you wont much backpressure. This is only my thoughts sonplease it is up to you from there.

I drilled 6 X 10mm holes in the baffles, certainly noisier, a good sound and still good backpressure, not as loud as I would like it and have been thinking of de-baffling all together, but 4 years later still deciding

Yes mate no probs with that just order the same as the vt 750 aero model 2004 and up.No probs bolts on. As you see some modify them .Up to you if you do the std ones or get some after market pipes . Most other parts will also interchange , like lights and seats and pegs .The 400 is the same frame and same engine as the 750 aero model, except the motor is sleeved . Hope this helps 😄 Cheers Ray
