Hi everyone.
My name is Karen and have been riding now for about 16months. My first bike was a Suzuki Intruder 250 and shortly after I purchased a cb400. It was time to admit that the cb was the wrong style bike for me and have just signed a contract for a 2012 Honda Shadow 750. I hope to get it by the end of next week!
Any ideas on seats, bags etc would be appreciated. I need my shadow to hold a fair bit, including camping gear, as I am doing a ride to cairns in May with the long riders to raise $ for prostate cancer. The sharing of your knowledge would be appreciated.
Anyway, look forward to meeting and riding with you soon. Take care and stay safe. Xoxo

Hi , Welcome to the fold . Have looked at the longriders before and found it vry interesting. Unfortunately time does,nt permit me to indulge . Great cause however . From whete are you starting at because some of us from QLD might be able to hook in unless its a contracted ride. Ok ad Shane has stated ebay is a excellent place to find gear for the bike . Go to bling and barney section a few up from new members on the home page and click on interesting web sites ,top of the list so easy to find . In there is a great selection of aussie and o/seas sites. I actually found another good site for bags the other day but havent posted as yet. On ph now so when i,m back on the puter i,ll give them to you . 2012 shadow ,cant wait for some pics . Good searching and welcome again Cheers Ray, Trish Gympie QLD

Hey Karen How ya doing?..... Come along for a ride with us one day and take a look at how other riders have set up their gear, Before you buy, you will get heaps of ideas for bags, racks, seats etc. Grassy made a real nice back rack for his Shadow. I think Doc made a nice lookin sissy bar for his ride. You will be most welcomed and have fun too!

Hi everyone. Thank you for your ideas. Appreciate the help. I am near caboolture in Queensland. Will keep an eye out for any rides happening around my area. Thank you Ray for all the links, will check them out. Does anyone have Honda Assist? I was thinking of getting it but wanted to make sure it is worth it. I must admit that I am not mechanically minded so even changing a tyre or light globe would see me having a 'melt down" on the side of the road.lol.
Once again, thank you everyone for your ideas.
Hope to meet some of you soon. xox

if you are worried about a flat tyre you can go to super cheap auto and by a can of slime, or simlar product they will know what you need and never have to be worried about a flat, they're cheap as. i recommend them.

Karen in Victoria I have RACV Total care so it doesn't matter weather I'm on a bike or driving a car anywhere in Aust I'm covered, brake downs, flats tyres, dead batteries ect. If they cant get me going it's a free tow. You might be better looking to see if the RACQ has something that covers whatever you using ?

Your allowed 1rim and i think 2 tyres a year . So far it has helped me enormously when i ran over a screw and buggered the rear tyre. Think they fit flats for you and all at your local store . Ask about this to see if it is still available . Cheers Ray
