Yeah me too Steve, I'd only ever been on hubby's bike the VT750S, which is taller and I cant even get it off the stand, but I'd decided I wanted a bike (had been riding a scooter to work for bout a year) and the Shadow just had it all. Well it doesn't look so clean atm, dusty It's been too rainy to get out and wash them, but this weekend I have to do some work on her so I might just pull out the bucket

Question for the peeps who have done the solo thing with their bikes. What did you do about the two bits of metal stickin out after you took off the pillion footpegs. They are driving me crazy cause they make the bike look like it's missing something and they are welded to the frame ... has anyone found something neat to cover them with, I've looked at Bunnings for maybe like a rubber cap but no luck so far.

My rear pegs are still on at this time. I still have it in the back of my mind as to what to do. They will probably stay on so I can return bike to original come upgrade time. As I am a big bloke I will not be sticking with the 400, 650 minimal is the plan.

i still haven't worked out what to do with those silly brackets, there are plenty of blanks out there for holes left from removing them from other bikes but nothing to cover the brackets if they are welded on Anyway's thought I would share how she looks now that I've got the back rack/rest on ... the backrest had a huge Hepco and Becker badge glued to the back of it .. my shadow riders badge fitted over the glue left behind when I took it off just nicely

Ok being a peep, i peeped. I reckon seeing as you can't find a cover off the shelf somewhere how about going to a metal work shop and getting them to make a stainless cover up to your satisfaction. I, ll look into it seeing that's where I work and see what one may look like. Could get one made from black steel and get it chromed as well. Just thinking off the top of me head at the moment. Cheers Ray

Cheers Ray Thanks Ray, I'd appreciate that. I kinda thought of that but not sure I want to get that involved, thought it would be easier just to find something that fits rather than go to the extra expense and trouble of getting something made up. I'll keep looking while I'm out and about but if it bugs me too much I may just have to get it made. I really dont want it to stand out so that's why I was hoping I could get some kinda rubber cap that would fit it .. might head down to the plumbing store and see what they have ...

I like your style there Ray .....why don't you try this Anna......by the way, I can do it for you!! Seriously, earlier in the thread Anna you were talking about driving lights/bar. I happen to see a Shadow just today that had one of those new led driving light bars across the front bar between the indicators. From the short look I got it looked pretty smick. It was a red Ace entering the Morayfield Markets S/C....don't know if the rider is on here at all. I was leaving the car park and couldn't turn back to check it out properly. From what I saw it sat in there pretty neatly. Brian.

Hi Anna
I see the new rack on the bike. Whats it like. Can we have some all round shots. I see it appears the stock reflector fitted ok. Are you considering having your seat guy work on the back rest pad to match your seat?
