Beno if it turns out your battery is cactus have a look at Motobatt Batteries, I has brought and used them in the past and found them to be very good.

Thanks to all. To be honest this was rather a tough day, After only having buying the bike a month or so ago and having this issue while being a complete bike noob and being a useless handy man. But at the age of 27 (almost 28) I've completed my first mechanical fix! I had to buy a few tools on the way but I did it! Here's what I did for those curious....
$40.99 trickle charger (local auto part joint). Removed rear and front seat. Hooked up leads to battery. Put seats back on leaving leads I under side panel that is removable easy and hides hanging cord. Plugged into wall and about 5 hours later I took it off to see it if would start and bang! Started! I rode around the block and she is now resting plugged in!
Had to buy some tools lol but it done! Kinda my first mod, well maybe.
Good week. Got my official SRA badge this week! I will post a pic with the bike and badge soon.
Again thanks to all for the support and help not just today!

Hey mate while you were playing around you didnt by chance get it checked to see how the battery actualy was . They stick a meter on them and it tells you the overall condition of said battery. When they did mine few yrs back it said REPLCE BATTERY . Didnt like that Any how hope it keeps it s charge . Was told iff they go flat to fully charge them before riding . Apparently they,ll bung up iff you dont . Exactly what mine did when i didnt charge it properly . Cheers Ray

Woohoo!! Now I do have to ask .. hope this doesn't sound to much like I'm being condecending or something but I noticed you said you had to give Bunnings a hiding .. did the bike not come with it's tool kit? Or did you not know where to find it? It's behind one of the side covers .. cant remember which one without being next to the bike but it's one of them. Dont laugh I just remember when I first brought my baby home and I wanted to look at the users manual .. I couldn't find it so I rang the shop to ask .. they didn't know. They rang thier people and then one of the guys came over and looked under my seat as a second option .. I loved the way that one of the first things the manual tells you is where you can find the manual .. sometimes things dont seem as obvious as they should be. Anyway it's all a great learning curve .. I know I'm still living that and will be til the day I die I reckon. So next time you have to do something with the bike you will be a bit more familiar with it .. and if it's under the seat .. then you'll have it done in no time .. it all gets easier And sharing it is fantastic .. I cant count the number of times I came on here with a question, did a quick search and found that someone else had already answered it for me .. you are helping others as well as yourself .. now do you think the day was maybe just a bit worth it all

No tool kit it's all empty That's strange it's usually left hand side cover and once removed there is a square box which you use your ignition key to open and they are in there. cheers. spinal.

Hi ben,
If the battery is faulty a charger wont help. I would leave it to the experts to determine the cause. Let your local bike mechanic help you.
