Just wondering if anyone can give me a bit of advice bout my headlight. Since I put in the HID kit it doesn't always come on when I turn the ignition on .. sometimes I have to turn it on highbeam then it works. It doesn't flicker or cut out while I'm riding or anything. I thought it might be a dodgy connection somewhere, I do have things jammed pretty tight in the headlight, so I was going to pull it apart and check the connections but I also think it's weird that putting it on highbeam fixes it. Could it be drawing too much power? Or just a dodgy kit?

Hello B, Like you said pull it apart and check all connections, If that doesn't work PM me your postal address and I will send you the kit I have and you can try that. Good Luck

Have you checked your wiring ? All the way back to the battery and the battery itself? HIDs draw very little power persay, than a halogen light does, but all the connections need to be solid? Never had a problem with mine , and it has been in and used for over two years, without a problem

Thanks Sheepdog, yeah I thought wiring but it is just a bit weird how it's turning highbeam on that fixes it. I'm gonna look at it as much as I hate the stupid little screws that hold the headlight together (that's what I was trying to avoid) I think it's probably a loose connection in there if anything, or it's too jammed in there and I have a kinked wire.

That Is a good call spinal, thanks. Specially since my blinker switch was sticking a few months ago on that side and had to be sprayed. Might be something there.
Funny thing is that it hasn't done it since I posted this thread .. its like it knows. I'll still check everything tho I think.

My HID does the same thing. I just found that if i turned the bike off completely and let it sit for a sec, then turn it back on it was fine. Freaked me out the first time it happened I thought i was going to have to back road it in the dark from the gym lol

Well I noticed today that my HID head light has torn out in support with Anna's but no low or hi beam when I put the original bulb back in works good as gold, oh well back to the spanners. Azza
After further investergation the connection that you have the choice of two plugs depending on positive or negative grounding had heated up and fused its self together. So stripped the whole thing out and plugged it all together still no joy so back to standard.
