Ok girly question time I got me a new highway bar and am excitedly getting ready to install it on the weekend .. being a girl I have read all the instructions carefully (I can hear you all gasping from here), they tell me at the end to tighten all the screws at the lower mount points (the brake and shifter brackets) using a torque wrench to the specified torque in my service manual. So I had a bit of a looksee at the owners manual that came with the bike, didn't find the desired information. I dont have a service manual (yep I know I should get one but then I have you guys ) so I was wondering just how important this actually is. I have had a highway bar on there for ages and never tightened the screws using a torque wrench before, but the difference is that this one uses both bolts on the bracket where the old one just used one. Is this going to make a difference ya think? Should go looking for this info? Any info or help would be enormously appreciated

If you screwing into Alloy be careful not to over tight as you will strip the thread. Best bet is to use lock tight on the bolts, stops them rattling loose. ( buy it from your auto store, a small bottle of liquid, put a small amount to the thread before you do it up. ) But that's just me and I know I will be wrong

nah, just tighten them up to (strong) "girlie" pressure and check them a few days later, should be right. I didn't use a torque wrench on mine
