Just querying those if you who may also have had/have other bikes. Having difficulty getting my intruder into neutral. Apparently a common problem with them. I read that using a synthetic oil would make a huge difference has anyone heard if this

You could try Synthetic oil just make sure it's for motorcycles. You should also try to roll into neutral when coming to a stop.

Corky my bike used to do something like that when I first started riding, not sure if it was me tho. I'd just roll her forward a touch then she would go into neutral no problems. Hasn't done it in ages tho so it might have been something noob that I was doing. Never used synthetic oil so I can't help there.

Corky, speaking from experience. My wife's brand new VL250 Intruder has same problem. It was noted by the mechanic where we bought the bike (on 1st service). He added a heavier oil and said to see if it improves by the next service.
There is a little improvement.
Bike will go in soon and if no more improvement he said he would be contacting Suzuki for perhaps some warranty attention. I will keep you posted to what happens.
Hope that helps a little.

I have had two Shadows and both have had this problem, it gets worse when oil level goes down a bit, never really tried a heavier oil but will give it a go as I use a bit of oil I'm always topping up, I have had it where I could go 1st, 2nd, third, and no amount strength could get into a higher gear, as I have had this problem as well before and a long time apart, when the neurons finally kicked in all I had to do was WD40 all gear links and take side cover off and spray, all fixed, I live on a gravel road so I guess a bit of dust gets in there over time, but one would never imagine it be enough to freeze's the gear linkages in this manner, but seems so.
