Well folks, I finally did what I swore I wasn't going to do, I fell off.
It was the final stretch of the mountain, about 10k out of Mansfield. Didn't read the corner, slippery, all happened so quickly and I believe a total lack of concentration, and bang, over I went.
Saddo and Shane come back for me, and a couple of cars with lovely ladies stopped to see if I needed help.
Jennifer was under the guard rail, while I tumbled two or three times and picked my self up like the hero I thought I was.
haven't fallen like that since I was a boy.
It still hurts the way I remember it, but the ego when I was younger was much larger. Now I'm happy to stand up and be able to write about it, and share the experience, so to prevent or make aware of the importance of always being alert.
Jennifer is bullet proof, again and again, she amazes me.
Once my good friends helped me with her, we brushed her off and rode of to Mansfield, with a couple of adjustments she was like new again.
Me on the other hand. Two crazed knees, sore hip and gods knows how, two blisters on my thumb. And no! that's not from the night before.
Thankfully! I copped the worst of it.
Another of lifes lessons learnt. Stay alert.
All in all great weekend

Omg thank god you are ok. You must have been shaky heading home after that. the drizzle wouldnt have helped either. Was great catching up and want to make sure it happens again. Stay safe hope the body doesnt hurt too much tomorrow.

Sorry to see mate but at least you put her down (I assume) on a bend which took you both away from oncomming traffic instead of into it. Glad you're ok and a timely reminder for us all

Glad you're ok and a timely reminder for us all actually, I was doing a left hand bend and slid onto the other side of the road. luckily no on coming traffic. The odds overall were stacked more than on my side. I think things turned out good. cheers

Family and friends wouldn't understand the need to get back on and ride. Especially when you get to meet and ride with a great bunch of people. till we meet again. stay alert. Paul
