When I had pulled over and the lady in the car said the first rider had crashed I thought oh no. But when I was going back up the mountain and came around the bend and seen the bike pinned under the guard rail I thought the worst. I tell you I was a lot happier when I saw Paul & Saddo both on their feet. Two things in Pauls favor were no traffic & the guard rail stopping the bike going over the edge. Panadol and a rest mate. See you soon.

Well folks, I finally did what I swore I wasn't going to do, I fell off. It was the final stretch of the mountain, about 10k out of Mansfield. Didn't read the corner, slippery, all happened so quickly and I believe a total lack of concentration, and bang, over I went. Saddo and Shane come back for me, and a couple of cars with lovely ladies stopped to see if I needed help. Jennifer was under the guard rail, while I tumbled two or three times and picked my self up like the hero I thought I was. haven't fallen like that since I was a boy. It still hurts the way I remember it, but the ego when I was younger was much larger. Now I'm happy to stand up and be able to write about it, and share the experience, so to prevent or make aware of the importance of always being alert. Jennifer is bullet proof, again and again, she amazes me. Once my good friends helped me with her, we brushed her off and rode of to Mansfield, with a couple of adjustments she was like new again. Me on the other hand. Two crazed knees, sore hip and gods knows how, two blisters on my thumb. And no! that's not from the night before. Thankfully! I copped the worst of it. Another of lifes lessons learnt. Stay alert. All in all great weekend Jesus Puffy hope you are ok take care mate

I tell you I was a lot happier when I saw Paul & Saddo both on their feet. Two things in Pauls favor were no traffic & the guard rail stopping the bike going over the edge. Panadol and a rest mate. See you soon. G'Day All, Shane forgot to mention that when the lady told him the first rider had crashed. He thought "That stupid bloody idiot SADDO has went over AGAIN !!. Fortunately for me and unfortunately for Paul it wasn't me. It was interesting watching it in the rear vision mirror. My initial thought was Oh Shit this is not good. But Paul completed a perfect 3 time forward roll and then up onto his feet as the bike slid into and then jammed under the rail. We extracted his bike from under the rail, straightened up the bars brushed of some of the dirt and continued to ride into Mansfield for a coffee. After the coffee Paul checked the bike over straightened a few more bits and pieces up then on our way home. Not a bad bloody effort from Paul. Paul I hope you and Jennifer fully recover. NOTE: Shane and I were happy to go for a re-enactment and take photos. Paul wasn't so keen. Cheers SADDO

After hearing a bit more, I think you are a legend Paul! I would have been too shaky to get back on for a lot longer than that and I reckon at least two coffees would have been called for. Well done mate for having the presence of mind to react the way you did. Let's hope you will never do it again.
