Hey all, Still in a quandry about the windshield. After watching the vids and pics from the AGM I see alot of you have one. I had one with the 600 but didn't like the buffetting I got from it (Wendy you can help me out here) did I fit it wrong, are you ok with it? I found with the windshield I lost the front on blow but copped a left/right buffetting of the helmet which annoyed me to hell and back. And No, I'm not tall....... I'm a shortarse! Your thoughts?

Ok. You probably won't believe this but if you put lowers on below the windshield this will stop quite a bit of buffeting. RADACO has them on his. The wind comes up from below. Can easily check this out by putting your left hand out and follow the wind draft. Getting the right height screen is a must to start with. Usually the level of your nose is a good height to work at. Have links on all this I'd any one wants. Just on pH still. Slight puter problem. Anyhow that's my findings. Cheers Ray

Hey beerfrog I have one and I find it good on a long trip. I still get a little bit of wind but not too bad. And before any-one says anything it's on the bike and not from anything else. lol

I installed a large one on my 1100 as I hated the wind buffeting me. No problem since and wouldn't be without one. I am 6'4 and have the screen so that I can see over it, but just. Smooth ride in all conditions.

When I first bought Scarlett I rode to Pt Lincoln to Adelaide & back (1300k) without a windshield - crikey it was hard work with the buffeting. I then bought a Spitfire windshield from the States. It's not particularly big but it certainly takes the hard work out of long distance riding without appreciably affecting the mileage. I reckon I would have struggled to do the Farriders Border Village run last year without it.
On an unrelated note, got a flat tire yesterday coming back from the shops 2km from home - not happy Jan. Flat top home and today will be spent learning how to take off a back tyre on a shaft drive. And the tyre is only 4 weeks (2000km old) Grrrrr.

Seals the hole straight up. Though not near the sidewalls. Yeah with my screen I don't and haven't got any less fuel consumption. If anything I would say more. The screen is smaller than the wind hitting all of my torso. Cheers Ray

I have a Switchblade Deflector screen. small but takes away the pressure from the chest area, which make long distance riding easier. Which ever one you get make sure that it is positioned right so that the wind goes over the helmet and not onto the face and chest. Ride safe

Hi people, I was viewing (admiring) my brother's one just yesterday on his Harley. It is very wide and IMHO acts as a faring also as his fuel tank was protected from stone chips. It looked great.

Damn shame mate but if you're going to do it yourself you reckon you could document the process with some pics?

I'll give it a try. Had a family lunch today with a few reds so haven't started yet. Still thinking about what sort of jack and support arrangements I'll have to bodgey up so she doesn't tip over and dent anything.

Had some the other week for $99. Bargain that. They are handy items to have in the shed.
