Yeah yeah I know, it's all over and dusted .. I'm slow yes, but I have a tonne of photos and I'm determined to share them!!
It all started with a meeting up of the Queensland crew and the NSW mob. MRC, Happy, Derek and Rodaco and his lovely wife from up north travelled for a few days to finally meet up with Cray and I, along with Ricksta, Jakz and Casper and Wendy for an early breaky in Dubbo, and after performing a bit of first aid to the first casualty (Casper's toes) we set off on our adventure south. Sorry no pics from me from the auspicous meeting, but you've already seen them from MRC's post so that'll have to do ya.
Our first stop was unscheduled and we decided to split up the riders to two groups. The faster guys took off first, and the slower group, who were really just there to enjoy the scenery, left not long after them, as soon as I remembered that the bike wont go into gear if you have your stand down.
We met up for lunch in Cowra, where us sight see'ers stunned the quicker guys by beating them to the meet point
Nearly all the bikes lined up
Some to the lead crew .. they are still wondering where the shortcut is
For those who were wondering, this is how MRC did all those selfies.
Group photo.
We took off again after some of us fueled up, and both groups got caught in one hellova storm. I got that on video but sheesh if I ever get round to editing all the video I got on the Gopro I reckon this trip will be all but forgotten. We'll see I may post it up eventually.
There wasn't much else exciting, til we got to Wagga.
Wendy's new beastie is pretty.
Once we'd found everyone .. we pulled in to hear that Jakz had a flat battery. NRMA was called and I did hear the young guy say he'd never worked on a bike before or something along those lines .. that doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
And so when the young lad left, the bike was starting again .. fingers crossed for the morning.
And in the morning, the sound of nothing from Jakz bike ... oh. We waited with him for the NRMA again while the front crew took off for breaky in Wagga then headed off on their own adventures. Eventually another battery was sourced and we were on our way again .. yay!!
After a quick hydration stop at some place that I cant remember (must have been exciting eh) we eventually made it to Wodonga for lunch.
Where the atmosphere was nice, but the food was a bit sad unfortunately. We still had fun tho
Well Cas had fun, Wendy did some exercises I think, and Cray was just wondering what was going on ..
Ah now I see why Wendy was doing her exercises, she was inspired by our parking spot.
After riding for it seemed like about 3 days, eventually we made it to Bright. And I only got us lost once .. oh wait no twice ... ummm well the third time didn't really count.
Bikes parked, tents up and we even found another NS Welshman .. Hi Johnboy
Cray and I decided early on that there was no way we were roughing it .. this was our home in Bright.
It was pretty comfy, and I dont know bout everyone else but I thought the choice of accomodation was excellent.
And that's how we got to Bright. It was a fun trip, great people to share a good ride with .. thanks to those guys
More to come soon ....
