I'm thinking I need to replace the standard indicators on my 2001 VT400. Anyone got an suggestions that might be a little different? Both rear and front.

I changed mine for the Kuryakyn Small Halogen Silver Bullets on the rear, had to get amber lenses for it seperately. They are small and look really cool, but they are also bloody bright so easily noticable. Put the Kuryakyn Lightbar on the front to match, the blinkers matches perfectly and the driving lights added for night driving, not really that much brighter cause I had the HID kit in my headlight, but it does help heaps by spreading your beam wider. I got the rear indicators from Simon at Bad Penny and the light bar from Cruiser Customising. If you want to see what it looked like .. there's a pic or two of my Shadow in this post, mine's the white one hondashadowriders.proboards.com/thread/2891/cray-anna-brokeWait that's the wrong link for the lightbar, that link is for the constellation driving light w/ turn signals .. they just bolt onto your fork or something, pretty cool tho. What I had was this. And actually the clamp on ones would be better in a way, while I prefer the look of the whole lightbar (who doesn't love more chrome) the spacers that came with it put it down too low and going into my driveway was enough to make my fender hit it, making a nice little mark on it, annoying. I had to get the spacers ground down about 2mm or so.

Got some of the indicators you guys linked me too. Can't seem to figure out how they fit... Is it possible they won't fit my model? Or am I just looking at it all wrong? Attachments:

You just need the flash bit of chrome that surrounds the tail light lense, or there is the chrome tail light visor. I just got on to a bloke in the U.S who builds the led tail lights with built in indicators his version is better than the chinese/ebay versions as he uses a softer solder that is more tolerable to vibrations and a simpler motherboard with better components. price is $60 each as for shipping well I haven't been hit with that hammer yet biggest draw back is that he only does lots of ten at a time. If and when I get one i'll post it up on the forum.

I am guessing the problem you had was having to remove the small heat shield inside the original blinker setup 1st?

Sounds like the other was removed or fell out sometime in the past. Or there is a black market for blinker heat shields and the guy on the indicator install section of the production line is in on it. Keeping every 10th shield for private profit......hmmmmmmm
