Where oh where have all the WA SRAs gone?
I'm sure there are still a couple of you left here in WA and not have joined the exodus leaving WA due to the downturn in the mining sector, or have completed your mourning over the Dockers being beaten by Port ( >:DFFS!!!!!!!!)
Anyways, it's been a long time since a group ride and even longer since the SRA had a Meet and Bleat. So I propose that we hold one in October, details of which are:
Day/Date: Sunday, 19 October 2014 Time: 10:00am Location: The Grumpy Sailor coffee shop, Paddy Lane, Fremantle.
They have great coffees and serve tasty bagels as well. I'll post up more refined details of location if you can't locate Paddy Lane on your maps.
So I'm putting this out there to see who gets drawn out of the woodwork. After bagels and coffees we may need to do an adrenalin rushing ride...

MH, thanks for the heads up on Bathurst. So we can either do it on Saturday, 11/10 or the following weekend on Sunday 19/10. I'm happy to alter the day to accommodate the majority.

So the weather during the week of blue skies and sunshine was superb. We even had a 35 degree day on Wednesday. Fast forward to yesterday and today and, well, the weather gods turned on us. We had two fronts colliding over Perth late yesterday that provided for a fairly major thunderstorm, rain and hail. With that kind of weather I was close to canceling today's scheduled and much anticipated Meet and Bleat. I was distracted yesterday so didn't get around to doing it. And it was just as well as three intrepid all weather riders decided to attend the Meet and Bleat. Well two actually rode their bikes and the other was going to ride but his wife and daughter wanted to come into Freo as well so he drove in instead. Oh and of the two that rode, one had a 40+km ride to the meet point and the other 2km (so I stayed relatively dry). It was good to meet Simon, one of our latest members, and also to catch up with Louie who has been away for a long (but not quite long enough) time. There was a lot of talking about bikes, rides and life in general. But one thing for sure, we are all looking forward to getting some group rides underway. Simon will hopefully be posting up a Southern ride soon which would be a great start to the season. And as for the location of today's meet, it was a challenge to find it as Google maps is not always accurate, but that's all part of the adventure. Apologies for the poor photo quality but that's us...
