Sorry to resurrect an old thread but my son was talking to me last weekend about buying a VLX 400. Now I knew nothing about these but apparently they have Shadow heritage and I notice that there are a heap for sale age 1988 and price around the $5K to $6K or more. I'm thinking, You have to be kidding, my 2004 750 would be lucky to get that and it is in really good nick. So does anyone know the story behind the VLX and just why they would attract a premium at the moment?
Cheers ... Mark

Thanks Ray - seems a bit suss to me, 8 or more 1988 models appearing out of nowhere with a high price tag (with nothing between '88 and '98) - might be a fashion thing, I've given up trying to understand the new normal. Cheers ... Mark
