Can't find any website that says it sells this in Oz. Anyone know where I can get it or if it is even available? Don't want to start any "oil opinion" stuff. I use this stuff in US because it's available everywhere, has never caused any negative responses that I know of and is one of the cheapest. If it's not available I'm sure I'll get lots of opinions when I'm in country in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Spinal, don't know where my original response went so here goes again. Actually was looking for the dino Rotella 15W-40. Already got a reply from the guy and he doesn't have it. Don't want to use synthetic til at least 2000 km. Not good for breaking in the motor. After looking at the prices, I may bring some with me. ls there any prohibition or customs tax for bringing in oil?

Good info for those not in the know Ray. Personally I have always believed that more frequent oil changes of dino oil is better for the engine than extended intervals using synthetics. Maybe my "old school" biases showing up. So I and many others here use this oil but change more regularly. My schedule so I never have to check notes or odometer is change the dino Rotella every 2500 kms and the oil filter every 5000 kms. That works out to 1500 miles for an oil change which may seen overkill but extensive oil analysis by the pros on the KLR650 forum has confirmed that this is great oil up to about 1700-2000 miles before it starts to lose its viscosity rating. I use 1500 because then the odometer is my friend. Every power of 3 such as 3,000 6,000 9,000 is an oil change and filter. Halfway between them is just an oil change. Easy math and great for my engine. No way I won't admit that synthetic is better oil since it won't breakdown as easily, is slipperier and stands higher heat. However, at 5-10,000 miles it's old oil whatever its rating and has collected a considerable amount of clutch particles and combustion blowby past the oil rings. For me, fresh lower grade oil changed often is a better maintenance schedule than the best oil at long intervals. Here is can get a gallon of Rotella for $14 (less than $18 Oz) whereas the Rotella T6 synthetic is $20. Maybe when oil gets more expensive I'll reconsider my views. I don't consider myself an oil expert so feel free to have it guys. In my defense though I have never had an oil-related engine failure that I know of and Rotella has never (far as I know) been accused of having been the reason for a mc engine failure despite the fact that it is recommended for diesel motors as well. Spinal, Checked out the material and know positively that knife or gun is out however nothing really about animal skins other than cat or dog so I sent them an email.

Here you are Penrite hpr semi synthetic is a good oil to run as it's available at all auto stores, rotella is not easy to find and penrite is pretty good cost wise. I also run 300 ml of moreys oil stabilizer any time I do an oil change in all my vehicles as the engine runs a heap smoother and the gearbox shifts a lot better as well.

They're okay with 5L each so we'll bring that much which will do first change and look for Penrite for the next one.
