Have had an intermittent problem reseting the trip meter on my VT1100 Areo, making it difficult keeping an eye out on km traveled versus petrol remaining. Thought it would be difficult removing switch, turned out to be quite easy. Getting something thin under it and gently lever up, total removal once I got a good grip on it.
Moisture getting into the switch caused it to fail (it is only a micro switch). Replaced with a waterproof momentary switch from Jaycar glued into place ($5.00). The original Hondas part is about $75.00...bargain

Well don Kon . Handy piece of advice for the 1100 .Though i imagine it would be pretty much the same with most models . Thanks for sharing your delemma and how to fix it . Cheers RAy
