Hi all from Tassie Pete
Wow, it has been a while, maybe toooo long in saying hi. I guess life does that to use sometimes, but no excuse.
Thanks to George for keeping me in the loop via member emails
The big...BIG Beema K1200LT is going strong and I'm just loving riding although I miss the roar of the VT and the cruiser look but still happy with the Beema LT.
Oh, one thing I don't miss is that stupid Jack Daniel's seat on my old VT400... it was way back at the Dubbo AGM that I introduced the world to that bloody seat. I have never ever regretted anything as much as that bloody seat. It just wasn't up to 2000km maybe 20km to the shop for milk but NOT 2000km, alas, lesson learnt
Sadly, I noticed that other than Ray's Christmas message the last Tassie message was mine in 2015, I do hope that the Tassie contingent is still strong-ish but I fear maybe Tassie just doesn't have the per-capita population and the demographics are not 'group' friendly.
Hopefully, Tassie will have an AGM in the future although, I do remember conversation of this nature at Dubbo and most circulated around the mind blowing logistics of getting to Tassie and the 'extra' time required with at least 2 days lost to Bass Strait crossing times.... but, never say never
As always, a few videos to showcase Tasmania on a bike (albeit, a Beema
I recently helped a guy from Victoria sail his catamaran back, it was just the two of us and although Bass Strait was also trying to blow its guts out we still had a good sail. I now understand why his wife flew home and I took her place as crew, she was more than happy to pay my airfare back to Tassie.
Sailing to Hastings on a catamaran - wind was 30+ knots but thankfully backed to 20+ knots so a good sail albeit, fast and rough as buggery.
I know how much we all love photos and videos, so here's some video with a few 'bonus' videos from Dubbo AGM
Those notorious 99 bends heading out of Queenstown - Tasmania - Earlier this year - Unfortunately, it was pissing (can I say that ) down with rain and the wind was blowing its guts out... welcome to Tassie lol
East Coast of Tasmania - Heading North towards Swansea - (not the best weekend as was raining and windy ) Earlier this year
AND.... a blast from the Past Dubbo 2013
Village Bakery Breakfast stop to petrol station refueling
Convoy ride from petrol station to the Zoo
Convoy leaving the Zoo - who's idea was it to start everyone hammering on their bike horns
Cheers all, Pete
Take care, ride safe, don't become someone's SMIDSY and ..... be kind to your mother
