Hi to all the Queensland SRA members and friends.
As some may be aware Ray Doel, the current SRA QLD State Co-ordinator is stepping down after several years in that role.
It is now time for someone else to take up the reigns and continue to lead the way for Queensland SRA. Nominations are now called for a new SRA Queensland State Co-ordinator. You can nominate yourself or you can nominate someone else, providing you have spoken to that person and they are happy to be nominated. If there are more than one nomination then it will go to vote and I will oversee the voting process. Being the State Co-ordinator is not a difficult job and is very rewarding when you see great rides and meet ups happening and members getting together enjoying each other’s friendships.
If you would like further information about what the role involves, please do not hesitate to contact me. Queensland has the largest number of SRA members in Australia, not far from reaching the 300 membership milestone.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ray for all the hard work he has put in as the Qld State Co-ordinator. Ray has really brought the Queensland members together making it the great group that it is filled with everlasting friendships.
Nominations close on 31st March 2017.
Regards George Tapai National Co-ordinator Shadow Riders Australia PH: 0438010695 Email: tapai@tpg.com.au

Hi Gorge previous advice was nominations for QLD state coordinator closed on the 11th of March with voting to be decided at a meet and greet on the 25th march. Can you please clarify if this new advice over rides the previous advice and if the M&G is still going ahead. Cheers Azza

Hi Azza. My apologies for any confusions. After speaking to members from QLD, it is unsure if the meeting on 25 March is still going ahead. I assure you a decision will me made one way or another and I will make enquiries for a clearer direction. It was decided that perhaps a longer length of time for nominations would be better. so at this stage this advice will override the previous advice. At this time just watch this space.

To all my SRA brothers and Sisters, after careful consideration and with the prompting of a well-respected SRA member I would like to take this opportunity to nominate as the next Queensland SRA State Coordinator. First let me say it will be an extremely difficult to follow in the footsteps of our previous QLD SRA leaders who worked tirelessly to build SRA from its humble beginnings of a few mates with a common passion for Honda’s cruiser the Shadow to the large family of passionate active SRA members we have today . The passion for Shadows is still very strong amongst SRA members but riding with and supporting mates regardless of chosen steed is what makes the SRA family special.
If supported in my quest to be the SRA QLD State Coordinator I will endeavour to continue to build on the foundations laid down by Steve, MRC and Ray. I would like to see QLD SRA participating in more social days and charity rides. Given that the QLD SRA family is distributed far and wide I would also like to see organised regular rides including overnighters so that we are all inclusive allowing all QLD SRA members to have regular participation in social events. Achieving these goals will require active contribution by all in leading rides and events. Whether it is myself or someone else as QLD SRA coordinator support will be need in organising rides in your local area and supporting rides in the backyards of our outlying members. If my vision for the continued growth of SRA resonates with a SRA you would want to be party to please support me in being the next QLD SRA state Coordinator. Cheers Azza

Hi Azza, I for one would very much like to support you in your endeavours, unfortunately I'm heading north again for a bit more work with MAF so won't be around till roughly mid June. I like the idea of social and charity rides, and really enjoyed the pub overnighter we did a few years ago. We definitely need more interaction with current and new members to keep the "Shadow family" going. David.

SRA Qld members. i wish to nominate Spinal and Kandyman as joint state coordinators. i feel that with the vast expanse of our members in the great state of Qld this would be a great workable alternative.

As you may be aware by now the closing date for nominations has been brought forward to 25 March. Because there is more than one nomination it will go to a vote and voting will close on 1 April. So far there have been three nominations: Aaron (Azza AB) Jules McDavid (Trooper) Ken (Kandyman) and Chris (Spinal) as joint co co-ordinators.
