The Aero models have 32-33" wide bars and they are welded risers.
I noticed a thread on here that you can shorten them up to 55mm on either end and still have room for controls and not affect the anti-vibration rods. This post was from 2015 and I saw no further comment on it. Does anyone have any word or experience on this? I'm keen to reduce my width and but looking for a cheaper solution initially than new bars and risers when it is hard to check the look on the bike before buying. I figure the riser extensions from Scootworks, shortening by 4" all up (would go to 26-27 inch but initially the 28-29" would be fine) and then some 4" forward controls to uncompress my legs.
Anyone able to provide guidance or advice on the bar shortening as a viable solution?
Thanks in advance
