Hi guys, Recently my vt400 started bogging down over time and eventually dying.
Long story short, I checked filter, coils, lines, drained tank and flushed, and the issue prevailed.
I removed the plugs and they had been fouled, unsure as to what the problem there is yet.
My main issue at the moment is plug number 4 (front right) snapped while I was attempting removal. Left 2/3 of the thread in the cavity.
It looks like some idiot put it in with a rattle gun. Anyway, the easy out wasn't working on it, at least by hand.
We're going to bust her out with a drill tonight because I'm out of options, but I am concerned about leftover plug ceramic and iron filings in the cavity.
I don't own a lot of shop tools, but we were going to retro fit a diy nozzle on our vacuum and attempt to suck any crud out.
My question is: Is there a way to avoid opening the head? I assume it will need a thread repair looking at the state of the plug hole.
Will suction be enough? I just registered her in qld and all this trouble on too has me strapped for cash This bike is all I have since my ex wife did the runner. I have to get this done right :/

Oh, that really sux!!! I think you have got the best plan. Perhaps spray wd40 and let soak. Try put the piston at the top of the bore if you can figure that out and then drill with as much vacuum as you can. Easy out if you can. Then attach a small hose to the vacuum that you can insert into the bore and vacuum anything that has gone inside. You can buy small inspection cameras off eBay to attach to a laptop or phone that you could poke in once it is out to make sure you have got everything out before you crank it.
I can't think of anything else without removing the head.
Good luck and keep us posted!!!
