I don,t know if anyone else out there and has this problem a minor but anoying issue.Sometimes when I turn the bike on even though the bike is in nuetral it just doesnt register and I have to lift the stand and pull the clutch in to start the bike has anyone heard of this and how easy is it to fix trying to get Honda to look at it while it was under warranty and they just thought I was an idiot they obviously didnt wanna pay to fix it.Just seems to happen more on a cold morning I shoulda chased it up though as now it will cost. Regards Pete

HI Pete ; I think from memory(little as it is sometimes) that i read a thread on that in the shadow aero forum. Worth a look anyhow. The other thing would probably be check for any loose wires or plug units at your stand or ignition switch. Honda dealers tend to step back a little if they have to pay, so get up them a bit (nicely of course ) . Otherwise write to HONDA themselves and tell them whats up. Just in the middle of a claim myself at the moment and all is good now.
Cheers Ray

Pete, I dont know if this will help, but pull the wires from the switch on the side stand and clean it with a good spray of WD. this may not help but it wont do any harm. My delivery svcotter has a similar set up with the side stand in that a brake must be engaged before you can start with the stand down and the switch fills with shit after running in the rain and the WD fixes it up. Pete found this it might help. It is a exert from a help forum. " Erik, if you check your wiring diagram in the owner's manual, assuming that you have one, you will see various switches in the starter circuits. There is one for the clutch lever, side stand and the neutral light. The bike can either be in gear with the clutch lever pulled in or in neutral with the clutch lever out." "From what you describe, it sounds like the neutral switch is failing perhaps, or the wiring to it has some connection problems. The neutral switch is a ground into the shift drum, usually. " "Hopefully it is a wiring or neutral switch problem and not something to do with the shift drum/forks or transmission itself." Cheers Ray
