Hi everyone, I got my 2011 Honda VT400 Shadow 8 weeks ago now, and absolutly love her. She is pearl white and silver. I've ordered a set of Vance and Hines pipes (cruzers)which should be arriving mid next week. She should sound like a big girl then im told. I was a bit put off by the size and weight of shadows when first looking for my upgrade, but after test riding one my mind was put at ease, and now i don't know what i was ever worried about. ;D I'm looking forward to joining up for a cruise with other Shadow riders.

Thanks guys, I got my Saddle Bags from Sharks Leathers at Helensvale They cost $129.00 and i dont have to use supports with them. I did however take them off last weekend and shorten them so they now sit higher of my pipes.

Definatley interested in the planned ride on the 21st, looks like a big one, may join in until Warrick then head back to Coast after that. My partner rides a Yamaha Roadstar, is he welcome to come along...he doesn't bite, and we can pretend we don't know him hahaha. And no, the bags are not zippered, but for the price they are a bargain anyway and i get lots of comments on them.

Zippers would come in handy, but as far as carrying shit? Thats a bit disgusting, i usually use a toilet and use my bags for carrying useful stuff

Jenny, your partner is more than welcome to come along on the 21st. With regards to your Pipes, be aware that if there is no fitting (holes) for the O2 sensors you will have to get some O2 sensor eliminators fitted. If your pipes are being fitted by the dealer make sure you ask about that part of the fitting. A better air breather may also be something to look at further down the track, the Thunder Mfg style that I have on my bike are considered to be 8/10 on a 1 (low) to 10 (hi) scale
Welcome aboard

Yes, I browsed these forums before seeing the dealer, as i am a total learner when it comes to what bits and pieces I needed to go with the pipes. They have ordered two O2 sensors to be fitted at the same time and said something about my bike being fuel injected so that eliminates having to do other stuff to it . I am now thinking about the K&N filter though, as it seems to be highly recommended on here. I looked up a local dealer and they where priced around $115, is this a good price? Can I replace the filter myself and do i need any other parts added when i do this. I used to ride a Yamaha wrf250 and could change/clean the filter myself, so will it be as easy as that . Should I be able to expect better performance with the pipes added, and will it be even better with new pipes/filter combo ;D
