Hey we just have to be a bit carefull, if you suspect a members is deliberately spamming then report it to Russ or one of the Excecs via a PM, the best way to treat them is not to acknowledge them and follow the links.
Be wary of any strange looking links that are not relevent to our interest, sorry to say this but utube and and facebook links are riffe with viruses so be carefull.
BTW Rusty has been in Hosp and will not have been answering your Emails and Requests.
Get better old fella

I had noticed that Rusty wasnt about lately but not aware he was unwell Get well soon Rusty!!! As far as the links go I definately dont follow them or acknowledge them, I was just wondering if there was any way to actually block them. Confirmation emails when you sign up and stuff like that ... I dont actually know enough about that kinda thing to make a real suggestion, that's why I threw it out there.

Hi Guys, sorry I'm just catching up on things. Do you mean email spammers or within the Forum? Can you point out any example or forward me something? I will do my best to stop it.

Good on you Annastasia, glad someone has their eye on the ball, most of us are just reading & oblivious to spammers.

Thanks Annastasia for sending the links. Both were by the same member and I have sent a warning in regards to spamming within the Forum. Please continue to bring any to my attention. I feeling fit and well now, thank you.
Cheers, Rusty

Can we delete the posts left by spammers? The reason that they are doing this is that every link to their web site moves them up the lists in search engines. So if the posts are left in the forum then they are getting what they want regardless of whether they are banned or not, they just hit us again from another address as they see us as an easy target. It's also probably no good replying to them in any way as they normally don't speak English.
I had a bit of trouble with these types of posts on the blog but just deleting the posts and putting them in my spam folder worked and I haven't had a spam post in a year, whereas I've seen one get through on freind's blogs and once one gets left on there or replied to they then end up leaving them on every page and cause real mayhem.
So the only way to stop it is to show them that they aren't going to get what they need from here, by deleting the posts as soon as possible.

Yup, Anna, we just need to delete the spam posts the minute we see them!! I thought this problem was brought up and delt with at the AGM? Rusty, could you just give your moderators permission to delete the posts when they see them. I recon this problem would fix itself in no time. Keep smilin.... Chrisso

Hi Rusty, hanhan is another spammer logged in as guest. Yesterday there were quite a few entry's in the Qld section. All just nonsense gibberish. David.

Chrisso Yep chrisso we did talk about that at the meeting. I forgot that, I don't even remember writing it in the minutes ... Good thing i'm not taking the minutes next year ;D I'm sorry that last post came across a bit serious, I typed it on the phone and I get lazy with it, makes comments seem a bit terse .. I'll put in more smilies next time ;D ;D
