I like my Shadow more each time I ride it its my first cruiser and I'm getting to know it and enjoy it, but I don't use it every day, so I'll post some photos of our every day rides .
This is my yammy Nouvo LX135 sort of the HSV commodore of motor scooters. 135 cc big carb, 2 up cruising at 90 km/hr with luggage, not too bad long as you don't have to go far. But great bike around town, a little bit thirsty, about $1800 on the road. Mine is nearly three years old and has done 15000 kms service costs are $4 every 2000klms. The guys at the yamaha shop do a great job. the workshop has a glass wall, you sit there and watch them do the service for you.
This is my wifes Honda lead; (the red duck)
you can buy a similar bike in aussie but not as good for about 3600$, this one has disc brake front end and telescopic suspension and is fuel injected, all for about $1700 on the road.
Cruises comfortably at about 80 km /h, gets awesome fuel economy, close to 50 km/liter. Service costs $4 every 2000kms.
both come with 20,000 km warranty.
Makes you wonder why we don't have bikes like these in aussie for this price , having the "level playing field and all that bullsh....T. ( Just like the ADRs, does anyone believe car and bike makers make vehicles just for 20 million aussies? and it makes them twice the price?) If we want to get the young people riding it has to be attractive for them cost wise. For 1700 $ every house in Aussie could have a scooter for trips to the shops or to work.
last but not least the mighty shadow
