Hey there riders: I have planned the "3 Dams Ride" for Saturday November 10 and it would be awesome to have some of you on board. Meet 9.00 in Brisbane, at BP Milton Road (the one between XXXX and Suncorp Stadium) to leave 9.30. We will Ride trough Mount Nebo and continue to Mount Glorious where we will stop for a coffee, This first stop is after a really short ride but it is a nice "bikers cafe". The ride will continue to Somerset Dam where we will have a short smoko stop and then continue north on the Esk-Kilcoy road. We will turn on D'Aguilar Hwy and make our way to Esk on the Brisbane Valley Hwy where we will have lunch and top up petrol if required. The ride will continue south on the Gatton-Esk road and turn in direction to Buaraba Creek to cross Atkinsons Dam. We will continue trough Coominya to get back to the Brisbane Valley Hwy and cross the Wivenhoe Dam. We will continue to Blacksoil for a good-bye stop. If everything runs as planned, we should be leaving Blacksoil around 3.20pm after having ridden a total of 250km. The link to the map: goo.gl/maps/NKhc9See you there.

Sounds like a good ride mate . 8-)We have avoided the Mt Glorius section as a ride by SRA .Purely for the speed bike idiots that frequent it . However i have always wanted to do it as a cruiser rider , for it is somewhere scenic to ride .So i will endeavour to join you my friend ,but only 50 - 50 at this stage . Cheers Ray

Aldo............terrific ride - I do that ride regularly. Mt Glorious is a fantastic ride, the coffee shop is spot-on AND as for the 'boy racers' - screw 'em !!!! Seriously though, they're never a problem and over the mountain they've restricted the speed limit to 60k's which isoften policed by Constable Plod ! I was up their recently when over 200 bikes from the HOG went through in groups of 20+ - not a problem guys ! see ya on the 10th

I too have no love of the Mount Glorious rd. I think it is a road for sports bike riders and a place to be seen as a bike rider neither of these attract me at all

There is a lot of concern about "sport bike riders". I would not worry at all about them. There are bigger idiots driving on any road anytime and we ride among them all the time. That is the great advantage of riding as a group, we are protecting each other. The Mt Glorious section is just 30km of a 250km ride that goes trough 3 Dams and amazing roads.

I think the sports bike concern is a valid one , I also don't entirely agree that riding in a group is any safer or less safe than riding with 1 or 2 others at least riding in pairs you usually have a fair idea of the other riders capability . This is not so when you ride in a large group

Grasshopper, please don't take things personal. I respect you, your concerns and your point of view; they will always be valid (yours and anyone's). But I also have an opinion. This is not a thread to argue, this is a thread that shows my initiative to organise a ride (is not the first one, is not the last one), and no one has an obligation to join. Thank you.

Aldo, I appreciate your organising the ride without people to do this we would not get the support we do across a wide range of rides and activities and from a diverse range of backgrounds . We all have our likes and dislikes just was voicing them sorry . Hope you have a good turnout and a great ride on the day

I have been over the Mt Glorious ride many times & loved it every time. never had any problems & it's a 'Glorious' ride. Would love to be on that "DAM" ride but will be heading south from the Gold Coast that day with the Gold Coast Cruiser Club. Have a great ride
