Ok, you have opened up a headache here mate. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) . Now if you go to the Bling, & Barney section on the home page and then click on Interest Web links it will open up a new world for you. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) . The first is our member Simon from Perth at Bad penny Custom s. He will get you anything you need. The rest is mainly o/seas sites. Custom cruising is one of the best there. Just go through them mate. A cheap but not bad alternative also is Ebay. Hit vt750 and that will start you going. Kakahealthcare is great cheap site. Not bad quality .However gear from Simon and o/seas are. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) Cheers Ray Ray that last sentence looks like you are saying that bad penny and o'seas are bad quality, i'm sure you meant that they are good. Anyways ya pretty well covered it all there.

Just ordered pipes for my VT400. Cobra Streetrod Slashdown in chrome. Cobra make a set tried, tested and suited for the VT400 with sensors. I double checked and made sure they were garenteed to not affect engine management.

Does anyone know of anywhere in sydney I can get the vance and Hines short shots installed on my vt400 . My local store is being a pain in my arse about it and won't give me an honest quote about it or confirm that they will do it. I can't believe how difficult they're being. Also what site was this Australian site you got your quote from because its much cheaper than my local is trying to charge.

BDRgonzo , are the cobra pipes loud? Can you send me a link to them and if possible a video. I love the vance and Hines pipes but they aren't too good about giving straight answers

A1 motorcyles and scooters in Ringwood (Victoria) are offering 15% discount on all spare parts for SRA members. They also have 3 sets of Cobra exhaust pipes available at heavily reduced prices for SRA members. They fit Shadow 750's but may be compatible with 400's as well. Ring the owner John Buskes on 03 9563 9166 for further information and for prices. He will post to anywhere in Australia. Mention you are with SRA for the specials

Pipes go on this Friday. I will post pics, vid if I can and details of the pipes. Norwest Customs in Castle Hill is where I am going to get them fitted. They were the 1st place that actually called the Australian suppliers and asked if they had pipes to suit, tested and guaranteed for the VT400. Companies called were Staintune (nothing available). V & H (pipes will fit, but no garentee they won't screw up my engine), Cobra (2 pipes avail- streetrod slashdowns and streetrods).
The supplier also stated that the o2 sensors were catered for as well, so no eliminators or control modules required. Price not cheap, 800 and change, but no added cost of future repairs or power modules.

Thanks a lot for that mate. I live near castle hill so that sounds great. I gave them a call and they said they don't do bikes and gave me the number for a guy named glen. Is that who's doing it for you?

WTF.... you are local to me, ride a VT400 shadow and not gone for a ride. What are you thinking. BTW I am still on my Ls, but love going for a jaunt. Already tried the Galston Gorge twice (5-6 5km/hr hairpin turns on the side of a mountain...... woot for extreme learning curve). BTW the place does do cycles. Their site is this link. www.norwestmotorcycle.com.au/index.html. Hope that helps.

Looks like they cater for a good deal of bike related thing guys . I am hoping so. Up until now I have used the workshop where I bought my VT400 (Action Cycles Parramatta), however I don't like the atmosphere the dealership workshop. Too sterile, like stepping into a public hospital for bikes. Mechanics too detached, not willing to chat like my car mechanic. The mechanic at "Norwest" actually came out to the parking area during his break (my bad timing, arrived at lunch time). Looked at the bike, chatted and offered really good advice. Apart from my exhaust, I am looking at working on the suspension. He put me onto "IKON" in Albury. These guys btw seem really good. I sent them an email telling them my needs. They replied with sorry but because your bike is new, we don't have the specs. However fill in a form with details required and we will build what you need. Now that is service. If "Norwest" prove as good as the gut feeling I am getting, they will end up being my preferred mechanics. After all now the wife has her bike (Suzuki VL250 intruder, in grey) I will need someone who can work both with a personal touch.

God Damn stupid dispatch. Idiot forgot to put the O2 sensors for the pipes in the box with the new pipes. Mechanic not amused and abused them. Slight delay now. Will be fitted next week. I will post pics and vid once on.
