Sorry to hear about your altercation with a f/wit driver, Scrap. Heal up quick mate and if there's anything we can do to help you just yell out.

Well, definitely a non starter now. Can't drive, can't ride. Fractured thumb and tendon damage thanks to the lady who thought that she had plenty of time to cross in front of me only to park her car across my lane leaving me no where to go except her driver's door. Bike damage still to be assessed, but headlights, screen and front guard are toast. Forks and triple tree seems okay but the mechanic will be checking them out thoroughly. Eerie thing is - exactly 1 year to the day since my first accident. The last 12 months have been absolute shit! Thoughts are with you Scrap - sounds not dissimilar to my bingle but I was much luckier - no damage to the bike and after 4 months the hip is coming good. As long as it's nothing disabling and permanent your glass is half full (and it's winter & too cold & wet to ride most days (at least here in Adelaide it is)). Regards ... Mark

Thanks for all the well wishes and offers of help - its appreciated.
My body is so bruised, I look like a Dockers supporter - dark purple bruises everywhere but the white areas of the team colours are replaced with yellow. More scans on my hand next week to assess the degree of tendon damage to my thumb. Can't do up any buttons or tie shoe laces - you just never realise how i,portant that small digit is to a normal life until it becomes useless.
Bike is at the shop - I'll know next Tuesday if it can be repaired of if it is written off due to fork / tree damage. Lady driver is claiming its my fault - don't see how, but I'm getting some CCTV footage from the camera mounted on top of the new hospital.
On a more positive note -looks like I'll be getting my severance package so I can finally retire - yeehaa.

It was another blue sky and sunshine day here in Perth for our inaugural Meet & Bleat. It was such a nice day for a ride that I guess others had a ride of their own happening hence the small turnout of 5 people - 3 on bikes and 2 by car. And of that only 2 were SRA members. Still a good day though with lots of bleating over coffees for an hour or so.
Us guys on bikes decided that a run along the river to Fremantle for a burger at Captain Munchies was in order. So that's what we did. We went down via the northern banks admiring the squillion dollar houses along the way. The ride back into Perth was along the southern banks. I only took a few photos this time so I should have them up during the course of the day.

Some of the photos from our Meet & Bleat Here's 56George with Perth city skyline in the background This is Peter. He rides a V-Strom and is not an SRA member ... yet. Other non-members Pat and, uhm, Mrs Pat. They're friends of Louise's who by the way told them to come down and don't miss it! So where's Louie? Just about to head off from Kings Park down to Freo. Funny thing is that this is a Honda show and the three bikes that turned out were a Yami, a Suzi and a Harley. So where are the Hondas? Oh wai... the yellow bike next to Peter's is a Honda. Here we are down at Freo. Just had our feed and about to embark on our southern river bank ride back to Perth. Such a mean and cool looking machine George is riding.. The end of the ride...the yellow Honda didn't make it...

hey roughie. Had a great day out yesterday for the first meet and bleet. The company was great as was the ride and the scenery. Roughy I won't be riding next week at all. I've decided to spend the weekend working on my shadow. Can't wait to ride it. Thanks again.

I've decided to spend the weekend working on my shadow. Can't wait to ride it. Thanks again. I had a great time too, George and great to catch up with you. The meeting of new and old faces was good, the bleating was engaging and the company was excellent. I'm glad you enjoyed the ride and scenery as well. No probs about next week. Nothing has been confirmed yet. I should probably do some work on my bike as well, just regular maintenance stuff and attempt to straighten out my foot board. Ray, you're absolutely correct. It is about the quality of the company that makes a good get together great.

Hi Greyshadow, hope you get back into the saddle soon The new topics is still there just a bit hard to find at first, look at the bottom of the page when you are home, theres a header called Forum Information & Statistics second from the bottom (just above Shoutbox), there you will see the Threads and Posts heading and under that links to Recent Threads - Recent Posts - RSS Feeds ... ya want Recent posts of course. It's actually pretty good cause it shows all of the recent posts not just the last ten. Have fun catching up Cheers Anna
