Been thinking about this run, going to depend on whether the bike is fixed or replaced. Was planning to do the Yuna run this weekend until the accident.

Be good to see you scrap. If the weather's ok will probably head south from Norseman on the way back and do the southern loop again.

G'day Gents Have just registered for the ride - should be interesting, although I might take the seat into an upholsterer and get a bit of gel put in where the bum bones start to ache after a few hundred K's. Anyone in the eastern States who is looking for a place to camp before the start is welcome to o/night at our place (approximately 1285Km from BV). From my reading etc of the exercise it's pretty much an individual thing until meeting up at BV. I'm pretty cool with that - in a past life I was the Animal Health Officer with Primary Industries for Eyre Peninsula and if I ran into any trouble I reckon I'd be tripping over people who'd help (as would anyone - EP people are the best you'll ever meet). Cheers ... Mark

Same here - happy to tent it, but I have to admit I'd love to find a light weight but strong camp stretcher that can be strapped onto a bike and handle 6'2" & 105kg. The novelty of sleeping on the ground has just about worn off.

Well, that's me definitely out until after the surgery - torn flexor and extensor ligaments in my left thumb - can't grip the bars. Plus, itsw looks like the bike will be repaired but its going to take a couple of months.......not happy.

Sorry to hear that Scrap, but as Ray says "As long as you are ok ..."
Had a friend who had his thumb torn off because he wrapped the halter rope around it and the horse at the other end took off (dumb thing to do and was the first time in 55 years he'd wrapped the rope around his thumb). Anyway, when he went in for his operation he asked the Doctor if he'd be able to play the piano after the operation - Doctor's reply was yes he should be able to -- my friend said great because he'd never been able to play it before the thumb went. You have to keep your sense of humour.
Cheers ... Mark

But why is it going to take a couple of months for the bike to be repaired?

Moe, when in August is the run? And where the hell have you been? Haven't seen you in ages... 2nd - 5th,not a long weekend!so no assessors coming, don't know them anyway,so just 6 in our group now. I've been riding with my sons group most weekends,so I can look out of the window at the weather and decide not to go, which I can't do if I'm organising a ride.
