After re-reading Rusty's comments about a meet to discuss this current issue. Whether that be what we want from our leaders, whether that be retaining our existing leadership or electing a new person to the post. I suggest we have a get together on either Sunday the 6th or 13th of Oct. To get the highest possible attendance please respond to this post saying which day is best suited & we should then decide on central location. The day with the most people attending I think should be chosen. louie PS:- just remember we must at all times keep it civil, as these are our friends we are dealing with here, & when all is done and dusted this is not to be personal, as the last thing we want it to do is to damage friendships that we have all developed over the life of SRA-WA 100% with you on the last paragraph Mr Fly

Well I have now be given the green light by Troggy to post this image of a PM Jayne has sent him regarding the leadership. Troggys concerns were that if we publish this, it makes it look like we ( both Himself & me ) were ganging up on Jayne and making a personal attack on her. I will put this in upper case to make my point real clear. LET ME MAKE THIS PERFECTLY CLEAR. THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK ON JAYNE. I regard her as a mate, althou I do realize this has placed a big strain on our friendship. The point I want to raise by posting this is simple. The dates Jayne has sent this pre-date the leadership spill by 5 days ( check out the time stamps ). the content of the message is clear. She wanted to step down & was looking for some one to take her place. She has also approached Greyshadow & roughy with in the last 6 to 12 months with the same requests. My position is clear. If you no longer want the position of State Co-coordinator, there should be no back room deals by way of private messages or any other means to pass on the leadership role. It should be made public that you are unable to continue in this role ( your reasons can remain private if u like ) & that you should call on the membership for nominees to be put forward, then a vote held for the members to decide on a new leader. My only question is knowing the contents of this message. Why are you re-applying for the position Jayne. I am posting this image under the guise of full disclosure. Things must be kept in the open & not held in secret. We are a small group of enthusiast for the Honda Shadow and I believe if things are not done openly it will only fester and be to our detriment. louie.

Hello all WA members As you may be aware all positions are vacated at the AGM and if no meeting is held in WA during Oct (and haven't heard that there definitely will be one yet) then the sensible thing will obviously be to maintain the status quo with current positions held and cruise through to the AGM when the issue would be resolved one way or another simply as a matter of protocol.
Jayne came on board when we were less "official" in our structure, and that she asked someone to stand in for a while is perfectly in line with how we operated at the start. There has never been a designated date when we became "official" as such, we have just evolved and tried to encompass a more workable and democratic approach over time - so Jayne has not knowingly crossed any line. The friendly attitude towards riding and the SRA comradeship are still, and hopefully always will be, a reflection of the early SRA when numbers were far less than now, but as we have introduced more structure some have come to expect a different approach in certain areas as with the leadership issue. Any "perceived conflict" is just a result of moving through different phases as a group while trying to respect the SRA philosophy and honour the dedication of our members. Please enjoy your rides as a group regardless of who rides point, tail-end charlie or throws a ride date out there. Try to come to the AGM in Victoria in March, have a great time and be part of constructive discussion on all SRA matters. If you can't come but would like to have a voice then please send through your correspondence to George our Nat Secretary to be tabled and discussed on your your behalf.

Thanks Rusty for comments above. I would now like to think aloud to the WA Crew. Their has been a lot of "Stuff" posted recently, it's now time we take a breath, I think we should now as a group get back to why we joined to go on rides, I don't think there is an apetite within the group for a meeting to discuss leadership at present. We now enter the riding season spring/summer, old faces will return (myself included) and new faces have joined what we need to do now is simply post rides and get out there. I will make a commitement to scouting and posting and no doubt others will to. Once we have spent time together old and new we will have a better feel for things, things tend to sort themselves out if you don't complicate it. Come January/Febuary I feel confident we will be better placed for that new WA moderator to appear perhaps myself or maybe you. When you boil it all down this is what you could expect of a highly successful group of riders. Spring/Summer 26 week period 6-8 good all day rides. Thats a good long ride every 3 to 4 weeks. In the off season Autumn/Winter around 4 rides say every six weeks. This means we will get together for long rides at least 12 times a year (and or not including a overnighter or Chrismas get together should some one offer). That's more than enough contact and wow wouldn't that be fun. Back to basics guys and things will work out fine. Best Greyshadow:)

After reading the latest additions to this thread ( i haven't read this for a few days or so ). I notice that there still has not been put forward a date for a meeting regarding the current issues. I did put forward 2 possible dates earlier in the thread to be considered, but I ( and a few others ) believe it is the role of the SC to post, ( & lock in ) a date to call a meeting for these type of issues. Failing this to be done, I can only assume ( based on the content of this thread, Rusty's most recent post ) that a vote will not be held in the foreseeable future & these issues will not be addressed & will continue to fester.
So that being said. I suggest ( in the interests of SRA-WA ) that we all let things settle & give things until the AGM in March, time to be addressed. Because, ( lets face it ) it doesn't matter who is the SC as long as the issues that have brought this to a head are addressed, that is all that matters. And quite frankly who cares who leads a ride or is tail end charlie. That has no relavents to the structure of the club.

I lead a lot only because I have to post them or they wont happen and George is well never in a hurry

This intrigues me, can somebody tell me why this will be discussed at the AGM, when maybe only 2 or 3 members from WA will be there. I was going to vote for Greyshadow, but if he keeps racking up the points, he will lead me down the wrong path.

All positions become vacant and are re-elected at the AGM. Votes will be called for and can be given by proxy. Prior to the AGM nominations will be called for, for all positions and an email will be sent to all MEMBERS. Members can then vote and do not have to be at the AGM to do so. Remember only members can vote. Membership is by purchasing a membership badge. If you have only registered with SRA and not become a member you cannot vote.

I also beleave whoever post a ride ( State Co-ordinator or Member} IT IS THERE RIDE and they are ride leader.... tail end charlie should be someone who knows the ride in-case you get separated im just happy to ride with my mates when ever i can we all have things to do and there are times that we can't make every ride but hey that's life just enjoy the friend ship and the freedom that has been given to us and PLEASE ride safe.

For those who do not read the entire WA forum there are instructions on how best for everyone to have their say in a fair and reasonable manner.

where ??
You as the state coordinator were supposed to post the date for a meeting to be held prior to the end of the month, then we vote if that is or was decided upon. Please re-read rusty's post giving clear instructions for the process to proceed.
Louie.
