Well it started bright and early .. my first thought for the day was 'where the hell's the sun?!?' the second thought was ... 'where's the coffee!!!!'
By the time I managed to wake up properly all the gear was on, and the bikes were beckoning .. we headed out of town on our adventure with Louie in tow ..
We took the road towards Wellington then turned onto one of the better back roads to get to Mudgee. Louie had already been warned that I had to stop often for smoko or I'd go nuts so he was prepared for the stop at Goolma's famous blue pub (well it's famous in my eyes
) It wasn't open at that time of the morning of course
They have lotsa stuff in this place .. a pub
They have a house or two ..
Tho most are in slightly better nick than this one .. they even have a petrol bowser ..
Tho I'm not sure that this one has petrol.
After a brief stop we headed on our way again. Mudgee for petrol cause we weren't sure if Rylstone would have anything. Then through Mudgee to the back road for Rylstone. This road was interesting, the first time Cray or I had taken it and I was leading the way .. besides being stuck behind a truck for the first bit, I then forced us to go a bit slower cause of the bends that were a bit of a challenge for me. Didn't matter I dont reckon tho, the scenery was pretty good and it was nice to just take it easy.
We got to Rylstone and found the cafe .. easliy spotted by the bearded guy with the SRA shirt and cap on jumping up and down on the footpath at us.
Yep we'd found Casper and a couple of strange bikes .. no Shadows in evidence yet but I really dont think either Cas or Louie cared that much ..
Now to me it looked like Cas was going for the handshake .. Louie looked like he was gonna take a swing .. it turned into a man-hug
Cray was just hanging bout letting all the love around him float
Gratious photo of my bike just cause ...
And Cray's baby ..
By now I was wondering whose bikes Louie had parked next to .. seems Cas had met a couple of guys on his way to Rylstone, and since they were headed the same way they decided to join us .. nice couple of blokes and that Triumph was pretty!!
So we settled in to have a pleasant catch up at the Bizzy Birds Cafe .. not a bad toasted sanga .. good coffee too
It wasn't too long before Roxy had a freind to keep her company ..
With all the noise of Casper and Louie together I'm sure Steve was wondering what he had got himself in for here ...
but we soon all settled in together for a good chinwag..
I guess I have to point out that I very cleverly managed to not be in any photos ... not a bad effort eh .. somehow I also managed to get all smiling pics (take note Vic and Queensland
)
Steve even managed a smile while being hit by the non stop chatter of Louie
And the sheer exhuberance of Cas didn't even faze him ... he took off back toward home still smiling
Bye Steve, was great catching up with you, and thanks for making the effort to come along. Here's hoping it's not too long before we get to catch up again
That just left Cray and I with Louie and Casper ...
The talk turned to bikes and since Cas hadn't been able to ride it was just natural that ...
Then they noticed I had a camera pointed at them ..
That counts as a smile ya know!!
Somehow Cray and I managed to tear the terrible twins apart and we headed on our way back towards Dubbo while Cas headed to Cessnock. Bye Casper ... we'll catch up soon I know and next time Wendy must be in on the action so I have someone to talk to
We took a different road to get back to Mudgee that takes you along Lake Windamere .. Cray and I have never been along this one either but we're definately going back soon .. stunning scenery! I tried to find a place to stop and take pics but didn't spot anything so sorry you'll just have to go there to see it for yourself
Actually I'm hoping that Louie has caught it and will show some in his hours of video that he took of the day.
There was only one slight lostness that happened in Mudgee .. but before we knew it we were back at my favourite blue pub for a much needed coke and smoke.
Where we sat and enjoyed the breeze and wildlife ..
Before taking Louie back to Dubbo for a nice relaxing evening.
It was a big day out .. we did 390 something KM's .. it was so much fun !!!
