computer playing up, ok , make sure you are ready, check the weather conditions before you leave and daily during the trip. the bom site is good for this, make sure you have wet weather gear handy, carry at least two sets of gloves, winter and summer I learnt from experience it is very hard to ride a bike with frozen fingers, and pain full
a scarf is handy too, more comfy than a newspaper stuffed down the front of the jacket. get some riding in, get some fitness regime going if you can.
someone in the group should be carrying a first aid kit, and sunscreen , not much fun having a sunburnt neck wearing a helmet rubbing on it.
we should all carry water, should be hydrating every 100k aprox , when you stop chat amongst each other, be aware of signs of fatigue, profusive sweating, the person may be very quiet, look at the body language, talk to each other.
we must all ride with in our limits, its not the cannonball run.
not being morbid here, but make sure you have id on you. for authorities.
if you cramp up or desperately need to get some circulation going pull up, as in qld taking a foot off a peg for a moment will end up with a nice fine,
main thing is to travel once all the work traffic has gone, don't travel at dawn unless you like having roo fur in youre teeth, and at dusk as well. be at youre accommodation in time to rest before a meal, have a swim, have a good breakfast, hydrate. make sure youre accommodation is quiet. sleep is very important.
make sure youre eyes are protected from the glare, make sure youre visor is clean as well as youre sunnies .should be doing this at fuel stops anyhow,
that's my little input, would love to hear any other ideas that would be handy.

Great work bro, a few things more..
Don't concentrate on how far it is till the next town, it will only make you ride faster and dangerous..
Most important is DON'T leave the people you are riding with to have a fast blast down the highway..
Support each other and look out for each other..
There are some pretty long stretches with nothing in between on this ride so care of each other is of the utmost importance..
