After watch the Skully helmets link it made me wonder how safe it is to have music pumping in your helmet as your cruising around. Then I have noticed a few people with earphones on under their helmets. Even a guy at work listens to music (loud) on his scooter (lol scooter but the point is more road safety on a two wheel vehicles). What's your thoughts? Do you do it? How's the noise? Have any issues or near misses cos you couldn't hear?

Great question and one I thought long and hard about before going out and buying the ipod. I dont listen to music all the time while riding .. never have in town and never would if riding in a city, I need all my concentration. I do put it on sometimes on longer trips, going down a freeway for example to kill the time .. I do get a bit wobbly from the bopping so need a bit of space round me And that's why I got the ipod to link into the sena, so that I can turn it on/off with a quick button press on the side of my helmet .. if I couldn't turn it off at will I wouldn't use it, I find it distracts me too easily.

Samo here mate Have a Scala headset. Music from Ippy or radio or talk to another rider or a pillion. Same as AZZA loud enough to enjoy and not block out the bike or surround. No worries about wobbling like Anna though. She must be really rocking.

So head sets that you put into/onto your helmets? You guys have open face helmets? Do they work as a two way radio for keeping in touch with another rider? Best place to buy?

We have sena headsets. Usually just use for chatting about the scenery or music if i feel like being a good pillion and keep quiet

Yeah mate, great for chatting with your pillion rider and If she or he gets to boisterous in ya ear, just turn it off and tell them its not working. Lol. The Sena and Scala are fairly expensive. Can be bought most bike place. EBay is the go for cheaper versions and quite a few riders here own them and say good things so check them out. Can be fitted easily to most helmets, full or open. Cheers Ray
