hey there Glen, don't think ive had the pleasure of meeting you yet... wanted to ask what your thoughts are for NSW if you get the co-ordinator role My little desire is that someone works on a regular "ride calender" that pleases ALL the different nsw areas and riders .....

Well if I do get the job I would like to see people in remote areas of NSW forward ideas for runs to me to forward to everyone in NSW and maybe start a MEMBERS ONLY forum on facebook where the general public are not permitted. I'm willing to talk to member about things they want to see. I have been involved in both car and bike clubs (mostly car) over the years holding positions as Founding Member, President, Vice President & was a member of Easyriders Australia SMC and a Charity Co-Ordinator for their Manning Valley Chapter (Never been a member of Southern Cross Cruiser Club) Hope this answers your question Ricksta

It not easy to do that, please everyone. Have same problem here in QLD. Usually I try to do a piggy in the middle ride. . Pic a reasonably centre starting point for a run. No matter what happens there will be someone that will have to do a lot more K, s on the day. On other one is shifting the rides to different areas each month to try and get more people involved. Then also a meet and greet only place for just talking and getting to know each other more. The ride is getting there and back. Cheers Ray

Yes Ray that's why we need people to take up some responsibility for rides in their areas

Yeah we used that for a year or too as well. Each month an Area was given and any one living there could put up a ride . It shared the k,s one had to do . At the time i was futherest north so it was nothing for me to do at least 600 k,s for a day . The best was 770 k,s we went just over the border ,was a great run though. Spinal has this oner now . Cheers Ray

Id like to see areas drawn up eg Central West, north coast, Newcastle and central coast Sydney, South Coast etc NSW is a huge place.
Each area to have a 'meet and bleet' ride day eg 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th Sunday of the month.
2x a year a 'half way meet and greet' lunch/dinner and over nighter say Feb & August. I'd camp but not everyone elses cuppa.
The other 2 May and November cross boundies did. Sydney meets West/ Sydney meets South Newy Cc meets North etc etc. Keeps us connected and organized.
This would allow short, medium and long rides.
Now this is just my rambelings and not an actual plan. Ideas for thought is all.
This kind of what we have been doing any way with our local rides and Sydney riders and half way with Anna and Cray.

Spot on Wendy The hard part is trying to please everyone so that's not what I'd plan to do, I see the role as the in between person co-ordinator not the organiser

Sounds like a good idea to me, something that you should bring up at the AGM, maybe a State co-ordinator and then Your regional co-ordinators ?? Same goes for Qld & WA because of the distances.

My main concern in doing the job properly is having the time as my employment as a Hospital Security/Wardsman (shift work gets in the way) of most leisure activities

Well done. And it sounds like you have a fare bit of experience as well. I'm sure you'll get the role. See you at the AGM.
