Hi Nick, I went through the same thoughts when I first got my vt400 and was commuting daily with a hi way section. Was sure I needed a screen, what I found was you get used to the wind buffering pretty quick. Now for some tips, I found if you find you are hanging the bars like a wind sock will make the ride uncomfortable pretty quick, the trick is to use your core mussels to hold the trunk of your body upright. Over time you will gain core strength and you will find the hands are just resting on the bars. I would not entertain the idea of a screen now unless maybe I was doing a super long ride. At 6'4" you would need a tall shield to get the wind over your head if the shield is too short the buffeting will be focused on you head. Another contributor to a uncomfortable ride is the helmet, my flip face is great at any speed ( well as fast as you can go on a 400) but my open face is pretty crap at anything over 90ks. In the summer my ride home sees me on the hi way riding into a north easterly so my 110 ks plush the head wind of say 30 ks makes the wind speed 140ks. The full face is good in these situations but the open is like having a parachute on my head. Can't help you with the bags as I went for the soft throw ones Cheers Azza

Hi nick and welcome, the brackets i have used to put my bags on with are call ghost or edge brackets, on and off in two sec, only thing with them is you'll have to make up a small spacer [about 10/11 ml] for the back mounting pin two keep the slots in a straight line for sliding on and off,as the rear fender rails curve in on the 400/750 aero but easy enough to do.the price varies so ya need to check ebay out. here is a link two show you what and how they work. store.valueaccessories.net/edgebrackets106model.aspxhope this helps, cheers, spinal

Your wife's bike is the upright/retro version of the bike my wife rides. She rides a VL250 intruder.

Hello Guys, Need some help , i Need a windshield solution I am 6'4" but I want a small cool looking shield any advise please. Also I have ordered a Solo Luggage rack and would like to install Bolt-on Saddle Bags not the ones that the strap goes over. Were do I start ? Your wisdom is appreciated. Since the bike is brand new I do not plan to do any major mods for a while. Thanks in advance.. Nick VT400 I love my baby shadow... Hi mate .I got a screen from here in Noosa . Aftermarket one but has done me now for 4 yrs .http://www.aussiebiker.com.au/catalog.php?category=Windscreens. O/Seas i suppose is the best for the likes of National Screen from www.cruisercustomizing.com/national-cycle-hand-deflectors-clear-honda-vtx1300-vt1300-sabre-stateline-interstate-vt7501100-shadow/part/NC-N5502 . They have a large range and are reputable to by from . Shark leather bags are good but mainly throw over so yo uwould need to do as SPINAL has posted . I have the K-Drive and liek them very much .Have not had water in them and have beeen through a bit of water . The store in Noosa also has them as would most cycle shops . ALso give SIMON a buzz at www.badpennycustoms . He is a WA member and a top bloke . Cheers Ray
