Ask Annastasia where she got her bars from, I had a look at them at the AGM and they look very sturdy. They bolt to the bike frame and not the radiator bolt, which seems to be a hell of a lot better and stronger.

I think they are Paladin bars and i agree with Shane they look a lot stronger than the ones that bolt to the radiator. In the event of a drop the pressure is taken by the frame and not the radiator. Ride safe

Congrats on your VT400c I love my Baby Shadow also.... I am trying to hold back on the chrome for now , so hard !!!!!! Honda only make certain parts for the VT400c and so expensive.... Honds Shadow 750 Aero when looking on ebay and you will find lots of chrome. apparently our VT400c is a 750 Aero in USA...

I hope not too much modifications Frank! It does say VT400 on the listing. Top attach point had to be cut off and rewelded it is L shaped and too far out front, need to be flat brings it back about 30mm, as it is the front guard hits the bar on bumps, bottom points need adjusting too

Tried my Honda dealer and he can't source them for some reason. the ones I have on now were supplied by Moto Adelaide, (Honda dealer) when they repaired her after my little mishap

What's the proper name for them, Frank? Crash bars? Highway bars? Engine guards? yes All of the above? I know them as highway bars, but I've often seen them called Crash bars. Engine guards is a new one on me, but I'm not as old as some of the others

Kevin, they can be called all of those things from different manufacturers .. dont forget if you are looking for things for your 400 then you can also get things that fit the VT750 Aero (American) or VT750C 2009 up Highway bars and engine guards tend to be the most used terms cause I think we riders are a superstitious lot and calling something a 'crash' bar is too much of a jinx
