Few hours spare this arvo so went a strap up the Mary Valley ,found me a bridge or three. This is the old Steam line,Gympie - Imbil .This bridge is at Kandanga ,a lovely Mary Valley township. Just to make it a pic of the old and new, here is a pic of the new interchange bridge off the Bruce HWY to the Mary Valley Cheers Ray

Well I love the photo comps, and as you know love taking pics of my bike .. so I just had to have a go! Cray and I took a long time trying to work out where there was a bridge that was photo worthy, and also that I could park near and not have my bike taken out by a B-Double. In the end it was pretty easy, this is an old train bridge that has been standing since 1881. Now I wasn't sure if I could technically enter the competition, cause I dont ride a Shadow. So I decided that since I wasn't gonna be in the comp I'd take the opportunity anyway to post some pics. And also I'd be able to post up the ones I've tickled up in photoshop .. just cause I love doing effects with me pics Time for a story about the bridge, originally it was painted in red oxide as an undercoat, it was from then given the name the Red Bridge, and you can still see a lot of red left on it to this day (no that's not rust). Cray once went across this bridge at the height of a river flood. It was the only way to get across the river from one side of the town to the next at the time, and his father carried him across it along a plank in the middle of the tracks on his shoulders .. yep the trains were still running. The trains still run across this bridge, and we've been assured that they will still run for years to come ... they knew how to build them back then eh Oh and one more pic that I almost forgot to add ...

Lots of lovely photographs. And the winner is? Now that I have found this comp can't wait to see what the June topic will be.
