Below is a copy of the GHOST rider's newslettre about THIS Sunday's 3rd AUG ride
all SA members of the SRA are welcome to join the brave soles who are going on the ride including me
G’day Fellow Polar Bears,
We’ve been watching the weather forecast and it seems that the weather next Sunday is not to be
ignored, the day promising to give us a break from the rain, albeit briefly.
Given that the hills are alive with the sound of ……..errrrr……..Sunday drivers, and possibly damp stuff
our run will head for Meningie for lunch. This run will take us through Mulgundawa and Wellington
ferry, and then a sojourn across the Narrung ferry and around Lake Albert to Meningie.
A no doubt hearty lunch at Meningie will see us heading back in the direction of Tailem Bend where
we will cross the ferry to Jervois, ride toward Strathalbyn via Brinkley Road to Langhorne Creek and
Woodchester. There will undoubtedly be some riders who will peel off to shorten the distance to
home base.
Total distance on this run will be in the vicinity of 250kms and all up time around 6 hours including
our lunch stop. Of course this may vary with regard to how long we sit around telling true stories
about how good we once were.
Our departure time? How about 10.00am(ish) from the Strathalbyn Railway
Station Car Park. This should allow the early morning chill to dissipate a little before we head
off. A caffeine and calories fix before we leave and we’ll be set up for a stop at Wellington ferry to
pump ship eh?
Looking forward to your company on the day if you can make it.
