Hi Cas and everyone else for that matter Have a great Christmas and I hope the New Year is everything you and your loved ones want. Would love to catch up in Qld but finances are likely to get in the way - unless someone has a VTX1300 for sale around the time and I can fly in and ride out - a brilliant idea in my view - the boss might have other ideas, but what she doesn't know won't hurt me until she finds out!!
Cheers ... Mark

Actually Cas I'm looking to upgrade to a VTX1300, mainly 'cos Julie is really into heading off with me on any ride I go on and because I'm heavier than I should be (and Julie is perfect in all regards) the 750 is starting to struggle a bit on long steep inclines. I did start looking at the VTX1800, which in my view is just ideal (0 to 100kph in under 3.5 seconds seems reasonable to me) but the one sensible neuron I have left has said "don't be a d!ckhead old fart", so it's reality time for this boy racer and Qld has more 1300's for sale than most States.
Cheers ... Mark

Yes, VTX1800 does rule (although I reckon it might be a toss up with a Rocket III if I was 20 years younger - for both bikes). I'm really envious of those with the 1800 and my reference to "don't be a d!ckhead old fart" was in relation to the fact that at 59 there is still a young boy who will on occasion emerge and do something very silly. A VTX1800 I suspect would be a hand-full if things went pear shaped and you'd need skill and strength to get out of a tricky situation - things that diminish as we age. (Something that was brought into sharp focus today as I was riding down Greenhill Rd and a bloody octogenarian decided to move into my lane (i.e. the spot me and the bike was in) from the right without warning. I really must replace the pathetic excuse for a horn with a Screaming Banshee).
Cheers ... Mark
