Yes Frank it can get a bit head banging at times to get rides going . Being a fair way apart doesnt help but SA isnt that big hey . Only a suggestion here mate ,not trying to intrude but sending emails out to let all members know of rides does help . Langers may already do this I dont know . Yesterday we got easily an extra 5 riders that didnt know of the ride . Simply because they dont look at the forum much . Hope this helps mate . Just keep persevering as you get there in the end .

Thanks Ray,
But why join a forum if you at least don't look in?? OK you may not have much to say and want to learn, but how are you going to do that, if you don't look in
I come on this forum almost every night (barring special events including family dos) and have a look at all the new topics (that's how I log on, the link I have on the coputer takes me straight to "Recent Posts" ) If they are of no interest to me or meeting's in other states (which I can't get to) then I mark them as read. Look in and see what's happening in your area at least Frank

Quite similar to what you do . Some just wait for emails go figure . How it rolls I guess but yes why not check it out . At least middle of the week to see Iff any rides are posted or Friday arvo hey . I always day you can leed them to water but you want make them drink . . At the end of the day its their choice I suppose so we have to respect that .

I know how you feel Frank, Nsw has a huge membership and yet the rides don't happen. Although they are starting to. When I first joined there was no one from nsw who even seemed to get on the forum to chat, I posted up a ride and got two guys from Sydney to ride to Bathurst to meet up. It was great ! Never heard from one of them again the other gets on maybe once a year. It happens people join a forum to chat, not for rides. The forums who organise rides successfully on a regular basis have a massive membership because you are always going to have the members who can't or don't want to do the rides. SRA is really an anomaly in that it's a small forum where regular rides work in a couple of the state's. And I also have to admit that I do exactly what you are talking about, I'm a member of 4 forums and this one is the only one that I chech regularly. But I won't leave the others because I do enjoy them sometimes, they just aren't as much fun as here Chin up Frank, it will happen, until then keep posting up when you are going for a ride and enjoy the nice people here ... That's what I do

Or like some of us, we just plan it amongst ourselves because there was no response on the forum for rides. NSW Hunter ride often but post less.

Hi Frank I decided early on that I wasn't going to stress over the lack of involvement from other Crow eating Shadow riders - made a couple of suggestions for a ride in the early days without success, but that was ok. I have a couple of non-Shadow mates (always wash after riding with them) who are always in for a ride and the GHOST group is really good (but of late I seem to always have a clash - not surprising being the social butterfly that I am). Anyway, life's too short to stress over the little things - I'm currently involved in the bushfire response here in Adelaide in my job, and that sure knocks you back to what is really important. One of my work colleagues (in the next office) lost everything bar the house and survived because he had installed a fire bunker - scary stuff indeed. And just to make everyone really bloody jealous, i'm off to Breckenridge CO. for 4 weeks skiing in a month, so no biking for me between now and my return (not rich, just lucky to have a mate with family over there so no accom. costs). Hope to get on a GHOST ride when I get back. Cheers ... Mark

Hi Frank. We have the same prob here in never never land but the group of guys we ride with (one is also now a shadow rider) said yesterday they are up for a ride to meet you at bordertown at some point for lunch and I think DooD from Murray Bridge would be too. Once the bushfires up here in the wimmera and heat die down a bit. We always used to go on our own because far from any shadow members till we found a group of mixed bikes who just love riding and now we are the greatest mates. always suffer the next day but worth it to get out and ride lol do what you love. Message anytime Hope,to meet up

G'day Phil Welcome to the group. You need to introduce yourself in the new members section (although this place will do) - more importantly, what are you riding and where are the pics of the mighty steed???
I'm not available for a ride until after late March, but hopefully one of the SA members can organise something.
Cheers ... Mark

His name is Allan Dood Brecht. I will find his post and put it up with the dates.
