Since the dealer can't force us to do the initial oil change and valve check at his place we plan on doing it ourselves. The 1000 km point should come up around eastern Tasmania after we leave Hobart. Any fellow members in the area willing to let us use their garage or any covered area to do that? Would sure appreciate it. We would cart off the oil if you have no disposal facility. Would rather do this in a sheltered place in case rain comes up in the middle of it. This would be the last week of March. Thanks.

Kuri, I have an offer of a shed in Triabunna that you may be able to use but only after the 27th March when the family move out and it will be empty, Prior to that date they will have it full of stuff ready to move. Also I have checked out the road that you want to take from Port Arthur to the east coast and the section between Copping to Orford is not recommended as it is a gravel road with heaps of potholes and not really suitable for road bikes. The only other alternative is to go back to Sorell and then up the Tasman Highway.

You're timing is great traversing2. Thanks for the offer. we're leaving here evening of 24th so not arriving till 26th. Hopefully leaving on ferry to Taz on 27th so perfect. Too bad about the road though, sure glad you told us about that. So I guess we'll have to go back up the center instead through Oatlands and Launceston way or do you think Bothwell and the Great Lake on A5 would be a better route? Appreciate the offer to ask others about the oil and valve thing. How about Pete in Penguin, is he still around? Didn't answer my PM but that doesn't mean anything.

Kuiri, the road only affects you a little bit as you dont turn at Copping and head to Orford you just have to come back to Sorell on the A9 then head up the east coast to Orford and Triabunna on the A3 instead not up the centre. It is a difference of about 30Km but it is a great road with heaps of corners so always fun. Pete in penguin has sold his shadow a year ago so dont think he is on the forum still but i guess he still lives in penguin. You can contact me by email or phone when you are in Tassie and we can sort things out and catch up manager1_2@yahoo.com or 0428541563

Oh I misconstrued the whole thing. I forgot we had wanted to go up the coast road. The bit back to Sorell and then up to Triabunna suits us fine. Thanks for straightening that out. Brave man putting your email and phone number out there but thanks for it, I'll get it in the appropriate place for the trip. Looking forward to meeting you when we get there.
