Dont kid yourself Azza, there is more to life than performance in a motorcycle, relaxed state of mind just cruising on a cruiser, performance on a sports bike that its made for.Just saying, have fun Croc. I don't kid myself, If you wanted to say its a classy looking bike why would not just say that with out the condescending remark, and that is bull shit that no harm was meant you have a stick up your ass about me ( f$&k knows why) as shown in your last rant about boulevards. Then you had the hide to ask me to give you some parts I don't want.

Azza,I was not having a go at you, I just do not like the style of the 109 boulevard much, I prefer the more layed back style cruiser,Ihave owned a 1500 Suzuki Cruiser when they 1st came out,and a 1200cc Bandit in 1997,so am no against Suzuki. And reguarding the sadlebag support I was not sure who it was ment for when you offered it,myself or the lady I had been talking too, that is why I asked you, and I would have given you some thing for it .So get over it and smile,no harm ment, Cheer Croc. Ps I did not rant about Boulievards in the past I said it was bad form of you telling a new member who just joined Shadow Riders that day with his new 400 Shadow that he whould soon want to up grade to a bigger bike and should look at a Suzuki Boulevard, I did not think it was right that you said that on the Shadow Riders Forum , and I said on a Shadow ride I would not follow you leading us on a Boulevard ,any person can ride what they wish to, just it should be a shadow leading as it is the Shadow Riders.I thought that was all done with months ago.Cheers

Hey All, I've only been a SRA member (#296) for a short period of time and have only been on the 1 ride to Nanango, I hastily joined the SRA for the simple fact I had purchased a Shadow and wanted to share my experience with other Shadow enthusiast who enjoyed the freedom of riding and the joy of owning a Shadow, I assumed this would also allow for technical support and help with accessorising the bike as you can tap into others ideas and suggestions. I will admit I have been a quiet member up until now as I wanted to see how the group operated. I have observed a number of posts previously that I will admit disappointed me and this thread is a good example of Non Shadow owner/s boasting about how much better their ride is compared to anything else, especially Shadows, I noted in another post whereas a new member had purchased their first shadow and was ridiculed again by a non shadow rider that they would get sick of their shadow and its lack of performance compared to the preferred brand of the non shadow owner. Maybe it's just me but this group is known as the Shadow Riders Association (SRA) and therefore a positive promoter of the Honda Shadows, therefore why are the loudest members non shadow riders who's only contribution seem to be to rubbish the Shadows. So it is with this in mind that I would like to withdraw my position as a SRA member (#296) I can only envision in house bickering amongst the varying bike owners and what brand of bike is better and why and blah blah due to the fact this is not solely a Honda Shadow Group. I would like to thank the administrators for their support and encouragement but would suggest maybe looking at putting something in place where the Shadow owners are put ahead of other brand owners on Rides etc, keeping in mind this groups main focus should be in the promotion of Honda Shadows and the benefits/joy of owning a Shadow.

Jeez, it will be a shame to see you go. I will miss your contribution to the Shadow Riders Australia (get the name right) forum - all those rides you have organised and charity rides you have attended - what a shame your support won't continue. If you are SRA member 296 that would put you as a shadow member before me at 301, so it would not be a short while. I take it your need to have a dig at me is the reason you revived a thread, against the administrators direction, that has sat idle for a couple of weeks. It's keyboard warriors like yourself that start bickering on forums. If you have something to say about the way I express myself, feel free to walk up and tell me at ride you are supporting (organised by one of the active members of SRA). In this particular thread I really need you to point out where I was boasting about how much better my ride is compared to Shadows. In the other thread you refer to I never ridiculed anybody. I suggested the new member will very soon want to upgrade to a more powerful bike like a Boulie. I personally don't give a rats ass what sort of bike you ride and if my tongue in cheek sense of humour has upset you in any way I couldn't give a fire truck. The day any bunch of guys I choose to ride with try to dictate where I ride in a group will be the last time I ride or speak to them. I certainly wouldn't put a big sob story up under a false name and have a big sook. Azza

Ok . I have kept this thread open ,not locked or deleted anything because some healthy discussions are at times warranted. However some are starting to get too close to personal attack on members and this won't be tolerated. So it will be locked if any more is stated in the subject and not on what the thread was originally posted for .286 I was there the day that all was said and it was nothing but tongue in cheek . This is AZZA ,pure and simple .People need to know others before one types ridicule. So please no more of this on the threads . Have a problem with anyone please contact me or simply talk face to face with each other . Its a gentleman's way to to go . 286 I am sorry that you feel this way and I except your position on this . Feel free to contact me on any more discussion .

I think enough has been said. What started off as a simple thread about a Victory motor bike as turned into something that is more damaging than helpful. Opinions and thoughts have been expressed, but things can go too far and get out of hand. I had thought about deleting this entire thread, but then I would probably get criticised for not allowing people to express their opinion. Please remember what the SRA forum is about! Share information, help each other out, have some fun. Not for personal crtiticism.

The bike in the original post is a Victory "Gunner". It is part of their "Vegas" line. Other bikes in this line include the Jackpot and High Ball. All share similar frame. Differences are pegs, bars and wheels/ tyres.
Gunner has mid mounted pegs.
High Ball has forward pegs, 14 inch apes and a slightly wider rear tyre (10mm wider).
Jackpot has forward pegs and a substantially wider rear end. Also the front wheel is different.
All use the same motor that is used in all Victory bikes. 1700cc of of V-twin power.
I was looking into getting a Gunner and modifying it to High Ball specs, however a 2nd hand Cross Roads caught my eye and the 10 grand difference on a new gunner was too hard to pass up.
I miss my Shadow greatly, but I needed some more power as I am not a little guy and felt it on the hills. Just thought I would share some of what I discovered while researching the victory line-up.

Apprecciate the write thanks GONZ. Im sure if Honda had'nt of dropped the ball on cruisers, riders would'nt be looking too far afield. They have, so they suffer the consequences .

Spot on Ray. A couple of months ago I tackled the local Honda dealership about Honda dropping the VTX range etc. His only response was they were just following market forces - maybe he's right, maybe with Victory and Indian coming into the market and HD finally making a reasonably reliable bike they thought it wasn't worth staying in the game. Who knows. Great write up GONZ.

VTX range was not a successful sales adventure for Honda? 1300/1800 07 models were still available in the States last year , out of the box? 5/6years after the model stopped production, this is why they were stopped.
