I sent out a letter to all SA members on Monday, but a couple of email addresses bounced so I'll put it up here as well FYI G'day Folks, the hip has healed well and I'm able to ride again BUT it has been difficult to organise a ride I have even found it difficult to ride with the GHOST riders on their monthly rides, I only just made the last one. as you heard from George there has been some major changes in the SRA and we are now mostly state based, though the forum is till running and is open to anyone from any state so please feel free to have a look in and your say if you wish hondashadowriders.proboards.com/ As it is hard for me to organise a ride, I invite you to contact me via return mail, if you are interested in riding with the GHOST riders (BTW GHOST stands for Grey Haired Old Sport and Tourer (although there are a few members who do not qualify for the grey hair or old bit) Our ride usually have between 10 and 25 bikes of all makes and sizes, there is always a tail end Charlie who brings up the rear to make sure no one is left behind or lost and the ride leader always stops and waits for the rear to catch up at several spots along the way. we leave from Strathalbyn usually at 9.30-10 and head somewhere for a meal with at least one stop for coffee along the way. There is usually one ride per month and you are under NO obligation to attend all of them, if you do join us (no joining fee) you will receive an email to tell you of the upcoming ride and one after the ride to let you know how it went, there are currently 4 members of SRA who ride with the GHOST riders Please contact me via return email if you are interested in coming along for a ride and I will forward the next few emails to keep you informed when you do come along, please speak with SPOOK to add you to the newsletter list hoping you will join us Frank PS if you didn't get the email please contact me here via PM PS so far no response from anyone

Thanks Frank, the SA GHOST rider group are a great bunch of riders and I very much appreciate you inviting me along the first time I went. The best part is they handle new riders really well (i.e. no fanging it down twisty roads and sh!tting on those not confident with keeping up) and don't particularly care what you ride (Yeah, sorry there are a couple or three who ride the Yank tractor thingy known for its single pin crank which was technologically advanced some 65 years ago). Sadly I have to admit the latest HD's ain't too bad - dammit!
Anyway, not here to sh!t on other rides - if there are any SA Shadow riders wanting to ride and meet some like minded souls - contact Frank and hopefully we get to meet.
Cheers ... Mark

Hang in there Frank . Mate it takes a bit to get things going . Now with FB being the favorite i have found it helps to link your rides there . Try however to encourage them to respond via the forum. I always make the forum the base for the rides however. That is what it was created for . So chin up ,keep emailing out ,they will come . . Not trying to tell you how to do things mate ,just offering encouragement .I always say ,you can lead them to water but you cant make them drink . Cheers RAy

I'm going out on Sunday, with my son and a mate, from the EMU hotel (Morphett Vale) on a $10 charity black dog ride / car run at 10am departure I wear a black leather jacket overlaid with a vest which had the SRA logo on it I ride a black 99 shadow with screen, saddle bags and a 2 helmet box on the back We will park at the top end of the carpark overlooking all the bikes and cars
As my son is working odd hours in security we will only be going on part of the ride, but if members from here come along I'll do the whole ride
(Disclaimer, At the stops I do not drinks alcohol when riding, if you do, it is entirely up tp you. I'll be drinking coffee)
Sorry for the late notice but wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it
Details from the site

we are rideing an driving from the emu hotel up to stath via the compass pub...to raise awareness about depression an the affects it can have on any one of us .....

The best made plans of men and mice
I wont be able to make the whole ride if anyone comes along as my wife is having a vertigo attack and can't walk by herself, I'll ride to Mt Compass then leave from there (she insists I go for the ride) I apologize for any inconvenience but family first, I'm sure you'll understand

Anyone up for a ride this Sunday? Please be at the bakery opposite the Strathalbyn railway station not later than 9.30 this Sunday the 12th of Jan Our ride with the GHOST riders will wander down Ashbourne way and back to Meadows, Macclesfield, and to Wistow. From Wistow a run across to Nairne via Mt Barker Springs will open up a run down the Old Princes Highway to smoko at Kanmantoo and given the damage in the hills due to the Cudlee Creek fires we’ll stay on the flat country so as not to get tangled up in the rubberneck traffic and the consequent dangerous lardheads .........errrr...drivers. Perhaps a run up the eastern side of the river to the Mannum ferry will see us close to our lunch destination of Mannum Community Club for 12.30.
From there we'll make our own way home at our leasure
The ride is organized by the GHOST riders who ride formerly with a leader, tail end Charlie and corner marshals so no one gets lost or left behind
!!! Please let me know here if you intend to come along !!!
