Hi, I've just bought my first Shadow Spirit and love it. My question though is, should my bike have a petcock and reserve because for the life of me I can't find one. It's a 2007 model, shaft drive and has a fuel warning light. I can't seem to find anything about it online and even the owners handbook I found online doesn't mention a reserve at all. Please can anybody help me out because I really don't want to run out of fuel. Thanks

Once fuel injected models started only a warning light was used .You still have at least 3 lt of fuel left same as the carby models . Just saves having to remember turning a petcock back to run once you have filled up .I know i forgot a few times ,where as the fuel light stays on .Never had a prob that way . Enjoy the ride mate .

I've got the VT400 and when the fuel light starts to flicker, I still have about 100km (4.5lt) in the tank, I've never pushed it past 60 though and when it stays on it's down to 4lt
